That’s a fair review eds1. The teams has probably had more rest over Christmas than we’ve had in the past but we look tiered probably from none stop football. I am kind of scratching my head why mino isn’t getting the odd game instead of one of the front 3.
One thing I’d like to ask you because I can’t tell myself is in games like that does klopp change tactics much during the game?

{Ed001's Note - he tries to teach players to think for themselves and adjust it to suit need. If needed he will but usually it is the players themselves figuring out what is needed.}

Thanks Ed. That starting midfield 3 really didn't do it for me tbh. Would of preferred mini in for milly and then bring him on when we needed to shore up the defense to manage the game.

{Ed001's Note - I think Millie played because it was his former club, same as why Gini was first on.}

Cracking review as always Eds1. Thanks to all the Ed’s for the work you put in on this site. Wishing the Ed’s and fellow reds a happy and healthy 2021.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Ace happy new year mate.}

Ed001: from my point of view i also feel like the decision making in key areas is severely lacking atm. TAA in the 1st half was basically clean through yet opted to pass instead of shoot. 2nd half Thiago took out 3 newcastle players with a brillant pass to wijnaldum and instead of driving into the space the pass provided him he went backwards, very frustrating.
A Midfield of Fabinho and Thiago is going to be just awesome, cannot wait to see that.
As regards to Klopp the frustration the fans get is from his subs- where is Minamino? shaquiri needs at least 15mins to shine and he could have given Thiago 45mins.
Having said all that the reason we did not win last night was because all of our strikers missed a sitter each, hopefully Jota comes back soon to provide something different and to give the front 3 something to think about.
I am glad you mentioned the referee though as i thought he was appalling- they are just getting worse by the week, this is not just a liverpool thing, every fan of a premier league club suffers, yet nothing is being done about it.
Thank you for doing these and may i wish you and your family a happy 2021.

{Ed001's Note - Thiago is not fit for 45 min or he would have got it.

Happy new year kk7 and thanks mate, I hope you and yours have a very good 2020 won.}

Interesting to see you say about not having time to prepare properly tactically for every game right now, do you think this is why we are turning up and playing well against the big teams or important matches while struggling to be creative against so called lesser opponents?
Like we are planning tactically for the more important games and almost just showing up against the likes of Newcastle and hoping to grind out a win?

{Ed001's Note - sort of, it is more that players raise their games for the big matches. No matches can be properly prepared for. It is literally just recovery work.}

Thiago has been immaculate in his 2 cameos and 1 full game I'm excited to see more of him.

I always knew he was a brilliant technical player but it's great to see that he isn't afraid to get stuck in.

He's a serial winner an it's showed so far.

Great review ed 001 as usual. The only thing i have to disagree on is your review of trent. don't think he's been at it all season in my opinion. I know he's had an injury and is only getting his rhythm back but i see an awful lot of wasted crossing opportunities from him. Maybe it's because we have come to expect so much more but his deliveries from out wide have been poor and free kicks and corners not much better. Think we need to see a lot more from him.

Thanks Ed, on point as usual. Thiago is something though isn’t he. I watched him before in some Bayern games and I kinda feel that he’s even better this season with us? As in he seems to have elevated his performance even more and as you said, he’s a class above anyone so far.

Thanks for the review, much appreciated. I hope the new year brings the front three a pair each of scoring boots! All the best.

Cheers Ed for all your hard work and with it being New Year’s Eve today you could have easily put your feet up and had a few days rest but you chose to give us this article. On the subject of preparation I was actually quite surprised as I thought the 8 days we’ve had since Palace (great performance) to Wba (poor performance) was the longest prep we’ve had all season. Some very good points in your review and I couldn’t agree more on the referee front. At one stage it showed he had zero control over the game when he called in (I think it was) Robbo and the Newcastle centre half and both players didn’t listen to a word he said and both continued to over talk him before he tried saving face and telling both players to go away despite them already doing that. Mo missed a couple of chances that he normally scores and as well as Bobby’s two headers he had another 2 great opportunities in the first half where the first his touch really let him down and the 2nd he chose to play Robbo in rather than take the shot himself. For me I would have loved to have seen Shaq earlier and even minamino. And not in place of the front 3 but to complement them. After all we went 4 attackers against city so surely we could have been that brave against Newcastle as well. Happy new year to all the Ed’s.
