Ed001 what were the positives from the H&G era?

{Ed001's Note - getting rid of David Moores and moving the club forward towards a professionally-run organisation. They started the move away from everything being run out of a room above a pub and into doing things properly, such as the club shop actually having more than one till. Also it was under them that Rafa rebuilt the youth system, which is paying dividends now.}

Rafa and rodolfo.

{Ed001's Note - it was Rafa's call, all of it. He was the one that brought in Rodolfo, so bit unfair to try and take the credit away from him like that.}

Ed001 if Sir Bob or you for that matter were in charge of the current squad and when it comes the time how would you go about moving on the likes of Salah or Mane?

{Ed001's Note - replace them and then sell them. First you have to have their replacement in place. There is no big mystery about it, it just comes down to recruitment, which is why scouts are the most undervalued members of any football club.}

I wasn't trying to discredit rafa only to also credit rodolfo who was the top man as you know long after rafa left he then brought in inglethoroe under Rodgers and left for man city inglethorpe then got the top job. Coady, suso and sterling being the only real success stories from the end of rodolfos rein long after rafa had left having as you said completely overhauled the academy.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok sorry. I do agree Rodolfo did good work and is in large part to thank for what we have now.}

Would Taki and Jota be 2 of the 3 replacements?

{Ed001's Note - I would be thinking of replacing as well as them, otherwise you are back to a situation where you are reliant on just 3 players staying fit.}

Exactly Ed001.

Now how would keep young Kelleher happy if he's not playing regularly for the 1st team? Now I honestly believe that we have Alison's replacement in Kelleher so for me it's really important that the club makes him realise how important he is to the squad.

Maybe you should answer your own question Barry, because I have no idea how you keep a young goalkeeper happy if he is on the bench. Maybe guarantee him all European and cup games. Alisson is one of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world and is still only 28, he's got a lot of years left at the top level.

Barry and TB. both good points and I agree with both of you.
The obvious answer to me is put the young lad on loan with a premiership team.
But like TB says Ali is only 28 and probably has 5 great years still in him.
Would Kelleher want to be on loan that long?

Keep him as no.2 for time being as Adrian will be gone this summer and we've seen how crucial it is to need a keeper who can be called on. If we loan him then we need to recruit another GK and we want one who is capable of playing with his feet which Kelleher is strong. He's had 3 good outings but can't yet expect he's too good to be a backup currently.

Just because you show some good form in a few games doesn't entitle you to a starting berth. Kelleher has only earned the right to be number 2 (my opinion), not already aspiring to Alisson's place. And like all goalkeepers, he already knows that things move slowly with GK's. Even Ter Stegen stayed as Barca's #2 for easily 2 or more years; despite coming from a #1 position and being highly rated.

Ed001 speaking of bringing in replacments for the front 3 could Harvey Elliot force his way in seems to be enjoying his time at Blackburn.

{Ed001's Note - he certainly could do in time, but I can't see him doing it just yet. I really like what I have seen of Elliott.}
