Ed001: a fair summary of both teams there, another performance where we made a hard game beforehand look very easy, normally fans being allowed back into the ground would motivate the players more, which it did, but in our case it also brings alive the manager, i loved seeing him run down to the Kop and do his fist pumps, a true highlight and another reason as to why Klopp and the fans have that special bond.
If we manage to retain the title with all that has gone on, it would elevate Klopp further imo, staying in the hunt whilst not being at full strength sends out a message to our rivals that we will take some shifting, even with injuries and weird VAR calls, Klopp + the Kop takes some beating.
The Youngsters are doing us all proud as well, nobody can fault there effort and commitment.

{Ed001's Note - thinking about it, I should probably have mentioned the fans return as it was special. Hearing them sing YNWA brought tears to my eyes. Makes you realise why one of the Barca presidential candidates wants them to change their song to YNWA to be like Liverpool.}

Spot on, Ed01 and great analysis as usual. Regarding fans coming back, I think the big teams coming to Anfield are going to have serious problem facing us with a crowd regardless of size.

You could tell how juiced up the players were to have fans singing and supporting them, Mekong the atmosphere great for the players to thrive under. Bobbie esp was loving it as when he was tricking, flicking and nutmegging brought the “ole” ‘s from the crowd and they started the Bobbie song. When Bobbie us like that, he is unplayable.

Now these teams are going to have to deal with the Anfield crowd and we all know how we get when the crowd regardless of size, gets during a big game. First up? Spurs.

{Ed001's Note - for just 2000 people the crowd was fantastic and I really feel guilty for not mentioning them. They deserved to be applauded for their contribution.}

It was louder than the emptihad at full capacity. I turned my TV to loud and was singing along. Very emotional.

{Ed001's Note - I bet pretty much everyone was singing along at home. Well I say singing, with my voice it is a very loose description of what I actually do.}

Not Liverpool related but what has happened to Reuben Neves the last 18 months? He was being talked up for a big move to a top 6 club summer 2019, now he's often either starting on the bench or being substituted.

{Ed001's Note - they talk about this a lot on the Wolves site, he has lost his way since promotion. He was hindered by the style of play to begin with, it meant he was very rarely able to get around the edge of the box where he is dangerous. I just think he is still struggling to adapt to the changes they are trying to make to their play and is sitting too deep. What does worry me most is that he has gone from being a mobile, though not particularly quick, midfielder to a player that looks like he is running in quicksand and can barely get round the pitch. I wonder if he is carrying some kind of injury problem?}

Great read as usual Ed001!
The bloke who I sit next too managed to get a ticket through the ballot ( hope I’m successful next time! ) and he said the 2,000 odd fans made a great noise - have to say you could hear the crowd on the tv!

{Ed001's Note - he is a lucky man! They were brilliant to be fair.}

Good read Ed!

Good to have Trent, Keita, Ox back in training!

Kelleher really stepped up and impressed, Jones has established himself and Williams has done much better recently.

We really could turn this poor run of luck in terms of injuries into a positive.

I think we had a good squad anyway, but when you have players on the periphery like Kelleher, Phillips for example come into the team and look assured just makes our strength look even more impressive.

{Ed001's Note - it is great seeing the youngsters step up.}

I had gini as motm but I’ve got to say young Jones has massively impressed me. He gone from looking like a kid just stepping up to light years ahead of he’s age in such a short time. He’s a huge plus for us this year with so many games to be played.

I saw a tweet that said "Gini saw all the Portuguese players and thought he was playing for Netherlands" and agreed with it. At least the idea behind it. Think it goes back to you noticing Gini getting the captains armband. He thrives on more responsibility. He's always solid, but he's ever better with that extra motivation.

Would love to see him get another contract, particularly with Thiago's injuries. Great review Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, he was exceptional.}

My fiancee was sitting on the balcony and said several people were walking by about the time the game started and laughed at my YNWA rendition. Manchester fans, I'm sure. Glad to know I wasn't the only one singing at home. It felt fantastic, almost like watching Leipzig take United out of the Champions League! (I wrote that comment while it was 3-0 and nearly chewed my nails off waiting for the end! )

What a great game and a very well deserved victory. As usual I have to disagree on Bobby, while he was slightly better he is becoming very much style over substance. I thought he was our worst player again. I thought Robbo, Fabs and Gini were all excellent. Matip, Hendo Mane and Salah all played to a high level and the kids were decent. Whereas Bobby other than 2 top passers didn’t think he effected the game. Robbo ran the game far more from lb than Bobby did from the centre.

Ed001, just a note re your comment about Gini being given the armband.

I remember reading a couple of years ago that the players had vote VVD and Gini as captain (in that order) if Hendo and Millie weren't on the pitch.

Look forward to seeing some of the 2nd string get a run put tonight! YNWA.

Thunderbird 2, I was going to say the same thing about Neves cos I observed the same thing. The guy seems to have lost his way and that could be due to the changes they are trying to make to their playing style, as Ed mentioned. I remember when Wolves came up and people were raving about how "Gerrard-esque" Neves was and how well he could fit in at Liverpool and you could see a few similarities esp. in their first season. Now, he is a shadow of himself.

At Anfield, he rarely got on the ball and sometimes like Adama, I forgot he was even playing till he got subbed off. Hopefully, he can be the player everyone knows he can be cos I remember at Porto where near every big club was linked with him and then people's eyes were raised when he went to Wolves in the Championship.

Great performance but it is a bit of a shame to see Raul Neves now. I was expecting massive things from him but he just seems to have hit a wall.
