I’m not sure there’s a tougher challenge in football right now than 90 minutes one on one with Sadio Mané. Fofana has generally been very good for Leicester so far, and does look a great prospect, but there’s nothing than can prepare you for Mané. Elite, elite player.

Amazing how often mane makes the right decisions too. Split second stuff and he's real astute.

Our league performance of the season so far. Really felt sorry for Fofana by the end of the game. Mane made him look like a schoolboy.

Great review as always ed. I was interested to see Fofana play. I'm not sure if he's not all that or is Mane just to good for most players?

{Ed001's Note - he is just inexperienced and got done early for strength and by Mane's skill and lost his head a bit. He kept trying to jump in ahead of him after that as he knew he couldn't handle Mane if he had the ball. He is a very good player though.}

Thanks ed! So many performances to highlight yesterday but I really thought fabinho, a make shift cb was excellent and looked like he had been playing there for years. I'd he stays fit this season he will be a big player for us.

{Ed001's Note - agreed mate.}

Excellent review Ed001 but did you really have to mention Wham😭.

Thanks for the review, Ed001.

Do you think this was Jones' most impressive performance to date? To me he didn't look out of place at all, which is a massive compliment for a young player still breaking through.

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - probably. He was very good yesterday.}

Great read, Ed01. Like you said and not for the first time, BR did what BR has always done/ The guy simply cannot analyse games. Like you, I was in shock as to how much time and freedom Bobbie got. It was bewildering at times. Has this guy been watching how other teams have managed to stifle him yet he left him pretty much on his own? The guy keeps amazing cos even after all these years, the guy is still poor at the very basics of football management. Also, noticed LC are poor at defending set pieces. Why am I not surprised, lol?

One more thing and I don't know if you observed this as well. A few times, I saw that when Bobbie dropped into midfield to orchestrate, Naby would go upfield and occupy the space he left. I thought this was a good move as it alloed the CB's to remain pinned back hence, allowing Bobbie more space to operate. You can see in the Jota goal that Naby was in that position and Fuchs could not see Jota coming cos he was watching Naby in the advanced area. Your thoughts?

Nice one as always, man.

{Ed001's Note - you are right, there was a very definite plan to ensure someone was always pinning back the defence and it worked well.}

I have to say that I do think Rogers is a very good coach; not in the stratosphere of Klopp - but then who is.?

He can get a little bad press, especially from us Liverpool fans, he presided over the demise of Stevie G and Carra, which would be hard to manage for an experienced coach, which he was not at the time.

I think he could do with help, but in terms of young British managers (license with the British) I think he is probably the best of the bunch. Fingers crossed that others like Gerrard and Lampard will surpass him, but I still think he is very much the right person for Leicester.

That praise aside, in Klopp we trust, he is the best in the business.

{Ed001's Note - coach yes, but manager? No, not even a good one. He has no tactical acumen, can't read a game and can't change a game when his team is struggling.}

Interesting one seeing Brendan dropping the ball so badly with regards to Firmino, it was him who bought him for Liverpool, you would expect him to know a little bit about him at least. Then again Firmino was badly mismanaged by him also. Brendans got a way to go it seems.

{Ed001's Note - he never knew how to get him in the team when he had him did he? His analysis of players and teams is terrible, he really needs help in that area.}

Interested as always ed001 was curios to ask a bit more about fabinho? I think I read a good few weeks back jus after vvd injury you thought it was maybe a mistake playing fabinho at cb and he should stay in his midfield position, jus wondering is that still the case or do you think fabinho maybe now converted to a cb "full time" now let's say. He plays in midfield so well but at cb he jus seems the effortlessly fit in. His reading of the game is immense he composed on the ball and must say against Chelsea and against Leicester seems to have been best defender on the park.

{Ed001's Note - I don't have a problem with him in defence, but I feel we miss him in midfield against teams that come out to play against us. So I would still prefer him there most of the time.}

Thanks once again ed001
I was very worried before hand due to the 47 injuries we had so I was delighted and surprised with the performance and won
I was quietly impressed with Jones last night, but one minor gripe was how wasteful we were in front of goal - some shockers missed in both halves, we really do need to be more ruthless at times as this cost us badly against Everton and city
But as I said a minor gripe from a great performance.

{Ed001's Note - and we were slack early on with the final ball as well, quite a few went astray.}

Thanks again for your review, Ed001. Enjoy reading them and always look forward to them after match day :)

On Jones - I thought he did very well most of the game and stepped up, however there were quite a few mistakes that could have cost us dearly. Given his age, I think he is entitled to make a few and should develop to a reliable mid-fielder for us going forward.

On Naby - I know the reasons for frustrations with him and I agree to all of it; but I think he was very good yesterday, up until he was on the pitch for us. I.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate.}

What struck me seeing Neco Williams preparing to come on is he still looks like a youngster physically.
He really needs to get on a weights programme and supplements, get some muscle mass and strength on him. I think it would help his game so much, especially defensively and on one v ones.

Brilliant as always Ed. Jota is really impressive, and it’s obvious he’s playing with confidence. He almost always makes the correct decision every time. Small ball rolls here, a feint there; he’s just a joy to watch.

{Ed001's Note - he is getting better as well, each time he plays he improves.}

23 Nov 2020 18:47:59
Thanks Ed001, great read as always.

Have to say, I’m loving Jota.

I know it’s early but which other team do think looks more likely to challenge for the title? Chelsea have massively improved at the back and Werner looks a good buy. I still think City will click at some point and are more than capable of going on an unbeaten run. Lots of pundits mentioning Spurs, I’m not so sure, if Kane gets injured then I think it weakens them massively.

{Ed001's Note - those do look to be the best bets. They are the ones with the potential to rotate to keep a consistent performance level over the season. United have the squad, but not the manager. Arsenal have neither a strong enough squad nor a good manager.}

23 Nov 2020 19:07:51
I said back before a ball was kicked this season i was worried about Chelsea. I seem to remember almost everyone disagreeing. I already feel my point has been proved!

{Ed025's Note - while frank is in charge dont worry about chelsea mate..

21.) 23 Nov 2020
23 Nov 2020 20:41:32
With an attack force of Werner, Pulisic, Ziyech and Havertz you can't afford to not take Chelsea very seriously. But I agree with Ed025. With Frankie in charge it's not going to happen. Maybe 1-2 years down the line.

BR would make a great assistant coach for a top manager. As a manager? The guy is tactically inept and seems to have this uncannot ability to never learn. There are fans on here, who can analyse games much better than he can which is already a scathing indictment on his analytical ability. He will continue to fall short at the moments of truth if he does not improve here and it does not look like he can after all these years. Just my opinion.

Am interested to her your view on this eds1 personal think Milner is probably our best free signing ever. I mite be missing someone but can’t think of anyone better at the min. Also on the topic of jota. Was he actually this good at wolves because I did think so and am sure if he was there would have been a lot more teams after him?

{Ed001's Note - to be fair free signings are not something we have made a lot of but Millie is a fantastic signing at any cost. Brilliant he has been.

Jota was good but he was a bit inconsistent. Plus Wolves were not looking to sell really until they brought in replacements this summer.}

Got to say when I saw the team I feared the worst, two of our most reliable midfielders in defence and a kid and lazy nabie in midfield, how wrong was I.
Great performance from the whole team, and great to see everyone is back to the Bobbie luv in special player.
