Back to my VAR rant you need high speed cameras scattered literally no more than a cm apart, at least one tracking the last defender and another tracking the ball. Then you need to build a visual recognition machine learning model which will probably take a couple seasons to mature. If you want to stick with var and remove human error and if some are to be believed bias then that should be the bare minimum. Implementation of a half assed tech is the problem not the tech itself!

Even then you should know the most famous quote in data science “all models are wrong some are useful”.

Seriously tho I’m so disolussioned with VAR that I think it’s bordering on criminal. There is no other reason for such inconsistencies and blatant mistakes. The Mane offside, the VVD sending off/penalty and the Fab penalty are just such seismic fu*k-ups that you can’t help but think something is fishy. Oh the plot thickens because the poor decisions happen in successive games. Do the authorities want a closer premiership this year? Not good for viewing figures if Liverpool run away with the title again. Yes I sound like a bitter twat but the proof is in the pudding.
