Enjoyed that ed001, the comments on the everton site should be an interesting read!

{Ed001's Note - they usually are...}

thanks for that Ed i can imagine that was one of the more difficult ones to write!

think you are right regarding Everton's ability to compete, they need to fix a few areas e. g. GK another midfielder and depth.

p. s completely agree about thiago can't wait for him to be back hopefully wasnt as bad as initially thought!

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

For me Ed001, I don't think the offside is talked about enough. It is all about the clear red card for Pickford. Of course that's simply down to the inept Var officials.

The offside is crazy in my view. I think the PGMOL should have more questions to answer about that. Why are we not given the view that shows him offside? Does it even exist? It was madness.

The VAR officials on that game need to be demoted and retrained. Simple as. The game and points are gone now but if there is no punishment for the VAR Refs, these terrible decisions are just going to go on and on and on.

{Ed001's Note - it does seem they are getting away with it, when it was, at best, dubious.}

Dunno how you can argue with any of that. Vvd has never struck me as a player who sets out to hurt people. Really surprised toffees are saying it. Nice one ed01.

As usual, an excellent read, long may it continue. Been impressed with that Thiago chap, I honestly didn't expect him to be so motivated and hungry for improvement as his now, atleast not so soon. Hope you all well and good, thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - thanks OKD, he has been incredible. All good here, how are you mate?}

Ed01, I was excited when we signed Adrian because the little I saw of him I thought he was a good goal keeper and last season he paled well apart from a few mistakes. This season though he looks a different player, making mistakes a professional keeper shouldn’t. Some of his decision are baffling like diving to his left and leading with his right arm? Personally I don’t just think it’s confidence, hopefully it is and a few clean sheets maybe all he needs to get back to the keeper I thought we’d signed.

{Ed001's Note - I think you are all just expecting far too much of a back up keeper. He is better than some of the first choice keepers we have had recently.}

The least they could have done, when they decided to start using VAR, is continue with the rule of the old days; if there is any doubt or it's not clear, then advantage goes to the attacking side. For the sake of the game (and the viewing fans) and to reduce the chances of entirely subjective decisions. They are slowly choking and killing the game now.

Great review mate, agree on robbo. Thought he was our best player against Ajax too. Jota really excites me too. It's a real shame j can't think of a way he can get into the team on a regular basis.

A decent round up there of the last game. Disagree with your Salah summery, I thought he was very poor but each to their own.
Appreciate the efforts you make on these. Overall a good read.

Can I ask please as to what level of football is allowed to be played down in liverpool at the moment as here in ayrshire 19 20 and amateurs are the only levels not playing don't know why nicola sturgeon knows nowt about football.

{Ed025's Note - i live in the city hunter and as far as im aware all levels are still playing mate..

Spot on Ed001.
I keep telling 025 that he’ll come to rue the name James 😂😂.

{Ed025's Note - the only name im ruing is virgil van dijk juicer, bloody hell you lot are like a dog with a bone, the guy got injured in a really bad challenge and i feel for him i really do, but christ you lot want pickford hung drawn and quartered mate get over it and move on FFS its getting tedious now..

I agree with you there Ed025, I haven’t said a whole lot about it.
Terrible challenge and awful for Van Dijk but these things happen.
I think we might buy in January, we’ll see.

{Ed025's Note - yeah juicer its time to move on mate..

Ed0025 I think it’s could be a Keyser Söze from Usual suspects ploy. When we play Everton next Virgil will limp out onto the pitch and then break into a run, play the game score a hat trick get man of the match and kick Pickford all around the pitch 😂.

{Ed025's Note - he would be doing us a favour JK.. :)

Ed25, I don't want Pickford hung or any of that nonsense cos that is just a dumb way of thinking. What most of us wanted is that Pickford should/ should have got the punishment his dreadful tackle deserved and we did not get that. Even worse IMO, is that the PGMOL came out with 3 diff. versions of the story we all know they were lying. Lies, all of them. That is what is doing people's heads in even more and can you blame them?

Then the media who on one hand say LFC fans should let it go YET they are the ones posting fake news about VVD's injury and it's severity (something NOBODY can know since s specialist had not even seen his injury yet) and asking him about it before the CL game and when he addresses it, they post rubbish about Klopp not letting things go. You see how the corrupt system works? That is what is pissing people off. So please, stop telling people to move on whereas the media keep whinding us up with the same thing you ask us to move on from. That only pisses people off even more.

I could not be arsed about Pickford. Did he do it intentionally? Oh, please! The guy lacks the intellectual fortitude to plan that out cos you need a functioning brain to figure such things out. Gini said it best: He did not intentionally mean to hurt VVD BUT the way he did the tackle, he did not seem to care what happened next. Moral of the story? Pickford is a reckless headcase and if he does not change, he will eventually get in BIGGER trouble than this, IMO.

{Ed025's Note - i have no problem with most of that RM and imo he should have been sent off, if there was retrospective punishment i would not complain either, as you say i dont think he has the brains to plan something like that and its the media and these so called pundits who are fuelling the fire, this is the last mention of it from me on here and relating posts will be deleted as its getting boring mate..

16.) 23 Oct 2020
23 Oct 2020 18:21:48
Ed25, I fully agree. Personally, I am over it. it is what it is and pretty sure VVD has moved on from it cos he needs to focus on more important things right now. I just thought I should point out a few things that you needed to consider in your analysis and frankly, you have done so. The End.

{Ed025's Note - the end indeed..

To be honest Ed25 I’m glad Pickford hasn’t received a ban. Don’t want you lot getting any more favours😜.

Ed001, great read as usual, it was worth the wait.
I read that Klopp was told during the game that the VAR people had only looked at the offside and didn't look at the tackle on VvD at all. Surely this is a total lack of knowledge of the rules from both the ref, assistant refs and VAR.
How is such incompetence possible?

{Ed001's Note - that is correct, VAR also confirmed to a number of media outlets that they only checked the offside and never bothered with the challenge. It was only afterwards that PGMOL realised that was a mistake and came out and flat out lied once again to protect their incompetent idiots in the VAR shed. That is why it continues, they are not going to learn from their mistakes when the PGMOL just makes up lies to cover up the errors. Until PGMOL is disbanded and a new body takes over the training of officials, one that actually cares about producing the best officials possible, rather than about covering its ineptitude, we will continue to get incompetence.

We also need to separate VAR from on-field refereeing and use a different set of officials for it. Ones that are specifically and only trained in using VAR. Preferably each game should have an ex-player also involved in the VAR usage, someone who understands what is a dive, what is a deliberate foul etc. Not replacing the VAR operator, but to work alongside them to spot what they should be flagging up to the referee on the pitch.}

Spot on with the ex pros being used it makes complete sense ed001.

It gives these pros another avenue once they are retired and they understand the game better then most.

They don't even need to make a decision as such they just need to let the ref know he may want to review the screen. So its a case of learning the VAR system, plus the officials aren't spread thin. We don't have enough good ones as it stands.

And I'm still praying they remove the lines for offsides but don't think that'll change.

21.) 23 Oct 2020
23 Oct 2020 19:54:02
Nah we can’t use ex pros to run Var. Imagine Gary Neville doing it. He’d give Utd a pen every single game including probably after the full time whistle. Hang on. Disregard yeah let’s get ex pros doing it 😂.

Great Read, Ed01. A few quick points. I think Adrian is a decent GK BUT I just think he gets caught up in moments of madness where his head goes. I say this cos when his head goes in these moments, he simply fails to do the fundamental basics of goalkeeping. If he actually stayed fully focused, he can do a lot more than he is doing now.

Also on the VAR tip, I agree with your response to Polecat. I mean, how is it possible that a PL ref does NOT know he could send off a player for violent conduct regardless of whether play is ongoing or stopped? This is a complete disgrace and the PGMOL knew how embarrassing it was so they came out and lied about it saying he forgot, which made it even worse and their stories changed again. As my sister says, Always stick with your first lie.

This is why PL officiating is in the abyss. They refuse to accept responsibility and do better so they remain stuck on stupid and hence, things NEVER improve. I agree that VAR can be used better and that ex players should be there with them to tell the VAR that he HAS to have the ref look at stuff he may have missed. VAR can be better BUT does the incompetent establishment actually want it to get better?
