the good football is back (well if your not an england fan I'm sure the good football was on tv)

what team would everyone go with at the weekend Everton do look good this year and with a double pivot of Alan and Doucoure they look great only downfall for them is they do seem to concede so if we pepper pickford he'll make an error. I'd go with below for the weekend

Adrian
TAA JG VVD AR
FAB
JH GW
MS BF SM

we really need a strong pressing midfield for this game we have seen if we don't press the defence is left to high, bobby double this weekend for me to shut everyone up ;)

Kloppers, Carlo normally, likes to play a 4-4-2 diamond with a no. 10 in the hole, something he has always done in his Milan days w/ Kaka and Rui Costa and with Chelsea with Deco/ Lampard.

To your point, Everton's midfield is more than solid with James pulling the strings drifting into the playmaker spot from wide areas. We have to be ready for that when he drifts in. We have to minimize the space btw the lines and cut off the supply line to him and when he does get the ball, and get a body on him immediately close him down.

Also, Everton drop deep into a shell when they lose the ball so we have to be cautious trying to break them down so as not to get caught out when we lose the ball. Hopefully, the defence can be switched on, the press will be better and Adrian can get better since Klopp would have had 2 weeks to tweak the system to accommodate him. Just my take.

Sounds about right mate, only change I'd make is Milner or Thiago on for Wijnaldum. I can't make up my mind who I'd prefer tbh. I think the most likely lineup though will be what you have put. Either way I'm looking forward to the game, it's been a boring couple of weeks waiting for liverpool to get their next win :) .

The team picks it self apart from midfield I’d go Jordan, fab, Milner.

Wales are going great guns Kloppers so it’s been a good international break for me! Makes a change from the dark days of Bobby Gould and Vinny Jones! 😂

I think you are spot on with you team. Alisson is a massive loss for me, you can see the quality difference when Adrian plays.

I am not sure about Thiago’s availability, probably on the bench to start.

Also, fantastic cross by Neco for the Wales goal last night 🤙.

I'd be very surprised if Milner started ahead of Thiago (world class) and Wiji who has been Klopps most used midfielder in his time here. I'm saying that not against Milner as he has played a key part in his time at the club but more the fact he's only started 3 of our last 24 league games. So i can't see him, Hendo and Fab starting. Not unless Klop is taking advice form Southgate these days on how to set teams up with no attacking flair.

I don't think Klopp will go with Thiago tbh, I think he is going to go with the old faithful in midfield we need legs and energy in there.

8.) 15 Oct 2020

Fab Hendo Thiago in midfield for me.

I like that midfield Davey. Those three should be well rested vs Gini playing 90 min Holland the last 2 ganes. Need lots of energy from those three to get everton heads down so they can't pick a pass with that high line.

10.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 11:57:12
Cannot see Gini starting as he played all 3 games of Holland. Most likely the midfield 3 will be Fab, Hendo and Thiago.
The rest of the team picks itself (maybe Jota instead of either Bobby or Mane)

{Ed002's Note - Fabinho was in Peru with Firmon for the Brazil fixture last night.}

wouldnt have Gini or Firmino in the team, both way of the pace and need dropping for a while.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some shock changes in there. Klopp has already hinted there will be changes after the 7-2 thumping from Villa. Bobby and Fab have hell of a journey back and defensively VVD and Joe haven't looked as united as they have been. Jota has also just turned in arguably his best international performance. Add that to the fact we have Thiago who Klopp is a huge fan of and described him as the best player in Germany a few years ago. He also made him his no 1 target this year and persuaded FSG and the transfer men to go against their previous policy despite his age and wage demands. And then gave him his debut 48 hrs after signing. For me that tells me Klopp will use him at every opportunity he can.

Personally, I do not see Thiago starting the game as I think it may have come too early for him esp. with him not being in training due to C.V. and that it is a derby with HUGE ramifications so a tried and tested midfield may have to be deployed, IMO.

I would pick Hendo-Gini-Milner/ Fab. There may however be issues if Fab is not deemed fit enuff to start due to int'l exertions and if that happens, I would go with Hendo/ Gini/ Milner with Thiago or Fab coming on. If Klopp does start Thiago which is likely then, I believe Klopp not only thinks he can start but knows he is ready to contribute from the off.

Fab didn't play at all for Brazil so just depends how much that travel takes out if him.

Indeed, Meanmachinered.

What about Bobby? He's doing the same journey as Fab and played.

17.) 15 Oct 2020

I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby rested and maybe a cameo if required.

18.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 15:34:46
Fabinho didn't play any of the Brazil games unlike Bobby. While the traveling and training sessions with the national team obviously take some sort of toll, I'm hoping Fab is in a position to start the game as we need someone to do the dirty work in midfield whilst Thiago is working his magic.

JK23 of the 272 games Klopp has managed for LFC, Bobbie has played 242 of them. He has played the most games under Klopp. I agree that he could need a rest BUT Klopp may just go with what he know and remember, Bobbie is used to playing after int'l breaks since he came in. I just don't think Klopp will rest Bobbie, esp. not now when Bobbie had 2 good games for Brazil, scoring 2 and assisting 1 in both games. You are not that tired if you just scored goals, man.

20.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 16:12:23
I have a feeling that Jota starts with Salah and Mane with Bobby having played on Wednesday in Peru. I agree with some of the others that Fab, Hendo and Thiago will be the midfield 3.

21.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 17:10:32
Rm some stat that is mate. I’ve not said anything about Bobby having a rest in my comment. It was said that Fab had a big journey back and may not be ready so I merely pointed out that Bobby had the same journey. I also read a stat that Klopp has never started Bobby, Salah and Mane in a Merseyside Derby. Surely this can’t be true. I just think Klopp might ruffle a few feathers after the villa game. After all a loss is a loss and we move on but a 7-2 loss might need a few feathers ruffled to stick a rocket up some backsides.

22.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 17:31:13
Won't we only get Bobby and Fabinho's C.V. test back just a couple of hours before the game? Klopp is going to need to have a plan B ready just in case the worst happens.

All being well, midfield for me is Fabinho, Hendo and Thiago.

23.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 17:46:15
I have a feeling Klopp might start Mane, Salah and Jota. Thiago for me if fit has to start, I get the legs argument but we can have legs in Hendo and Fabinho. Fabinho would sit and Hendo has the discipline to know when to go forward or drop back and help. Fabinho can sit and shield the back 4 and Thiago, well Thiago can just be him which is class!

24.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 18:34:10
Jk23, I never said you made that comment. Also, I don't think this is the time to be ruffling feathers, IMO. As a manager, you want to have as many certitudes as possible going into a game like this hence, Klopp may go with what he knows of course, if injuries and sports science input/ assessment allows. Either way, we will see.

25.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 19:52:17
Rm you could be right mate. Only Klopp knows what he’s going to do. Apart from Robbo and Salah the other 9 would have no arguments about being dropped. If they all survive then for me it says despite us having the best squad we have in years it doesn’t matter how you perform you will still play. Only time will tell though mate. For me though Thiago is a must. People need to look at his stats as they were higher in tackling and interceptions last season than our first choice mid 3 per game. Plus a major strength of his is pressing. You can’t have pressing, tackling and interceptions as strengths if you don’t have the legs or are not an athlete.

26.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 20:23:13
If fit
Pitaluga
Trent. Fab. Vvd. Robbo
Thiago
Hendo. Gini
Mo. Jota. Mane.

27.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 22:16:17
I would rest / drop Gomez, Fab, Keita and Firmino and play Matip, Thiago, Henderson and Jota. Fab to come on with 30 left to win the game.

28.) 15 Oct 2020
15 Oct 2020 22:52:36
Milner has plenty of attacking flair BTW. I'd like to see Hendo fab and thiago.

29.) 16 Oct 2020
16 Oct 2020 01:11:51
Everton are not to be underestimated, they have quality going forwards and in midfield and I think there is a chance they will exploit that high line we play like Leeds and villa did. We have Adrian in goal and he will not instill confidence in the team!

30.) 16 Oct 2020

I keep hearing thiago legs have gone, he's injury prone. I'm honestly scared to play him! But then everyone tells us he's world class!

I think he was brought in to play against the parked buses and not so much the more evenly matched teams (on form ed025, don't get too excited pal)

33.) 16 Oct 2020
16 Oct 2020 22:19:55
I wouldn't be surprised to see Matip, Hendo and Millie, Salah Mane and Jota the front 3 for me. Adrian worries me, but then there is Pickford at the other end!
