What do so many fickle fans on here have against Gini - he has been our best midfielder since he joined . Work horse - never gives away position - the first name on the team sheet in the middle and a big reason Liverpool are where they are at this moment in time .
We get a sniff of getting a new player and we want to throw the player they would replace under the bus . Crazy.

yeah Cotsi it was Henderson turn not to long ago get rid of him he only passes back or sideways at the minute everybody wants Gini and Gomez replaced its a F*****g joke these players have played a massive part in number 6 and putting the 30year wait to an end.

Agree that there are some dumb ass fans out there, slating someone who has been excellent for us, but Henderson has been our best midfielder, hands down.

I don’t think people are hating on Wini, not that Iv seen anyway and I would prefer him to stay then leave. But let’s be honest in terms of importance to the team he is more replaceable than others. Bobby, Salah, Mane, Hendo, VVD, Trent, Robbo and arguable even Fab are more critical and difficult players to replace. Thiago obviously also. So it’s not that he isn’t liked, he is just replaceable and clearly isn’t overly interested in staying with us. Fine. Bye then!

Thing is, there aren't many players that do what gini does, at the level he does it at. He would not be easy to replace.

Some fans just don't take to players, simple really, i wasnt a Kuyt fan where he played but i loved the guy, for me i wanted a right mid to take players on and whip a ball in, bit of pace, he was great to get a goal from the right though and he did a job, same way i loved Harry Kewell signing, one of my favourites, could of been better but wasnt, gets loads of stick from fans, if all fans were the same there would be no banter in football, seems there's a core of people on here who have a weakness of attacking others just because they have a different view, shame.

Exactly Ed025, if we all had the same it would be boring, its good to see how different people see players and games, its the constant putting down that can get wary, there's ways to get opinions across and to have people listen, once it takes a certain tone you can lose interest in someones views.

{Ed025's Note - i think thats a symtom of the microwave generation we are in now lancaster and the clamour for instant success, one bad game and a player is crap but one good game makes them world class, thats not going to change anytime soon mate but i suppose it makes things interesting..

Add into that the Fifa player insult or Footy Manager insult ( which i did use when i ran a team a couple of years ago haha) Love Football Manager and had them all since Italian Champ Man way back in 94/ 95 i think, Loved a Milan team playing 3-3-1-3, they have got more indepth and i find myself watching players because of that game i wouldn't usually, Jota was a wonderkid a few years back.

Robbiesline what is it that Gini does so expertly that the others don't or can't do? Score. Hendo and Fab do more of that, assist. again both players do more of that, keep the ball. didn't know there was a specific role for that for one player in a team of 11? And besides anyway him holding onto the ball more often than not disrupts the flow of our attack? He makes short, easy passes look difficult. He can't pass long? I fail to see what he brings anymore and if he doesn't want to sign a new contract or we haven't offered one (I don't know what the deets are) but either way why are we playing him if he's not going to be here next year when that spot could be given to someone who will be here and that in turn will bleed them into the side?
