Now that Thiago is in, the recall Couthino can relax. This a better, more matured and consistent fit. Bring on the teams that sit back.

He is exceptional at controlling the pace of the game. He has that ability to move teams around with his passing range until they simply get tired and start leaving gaps. He is the literal personification of a deep lying playmaker.

Now we are going to have the likes of Salah, Mane, Jota, Firmino and Minamino running at teams too. It's mouth watering. The 3 signings we've made this summer give us squad depth to rival that of Man City's in my opinion.

Imagine a formation of Fabinho and Thiago behind a front four of Salah, Mane, Firmino and Jota. That's going to be good to watch.

It will be really interesting to see what role Thiago takes up in central midfield. He allows us an absurd amount of flexibility. Jota too gives us a lot of options; in his case, Diogo will come up with a lot to prove, knowing that it will be incredibly hard to steal time off of the front three, but unafraid to dig in and take his chances. I just can't imagine Thiago being on the bench most weeks. I think we now have the best squad I've ever seen at Liverpool (22 years of being a fan, mind you) . I mean, our sometimes fourth and fifth options (or more) would have been starters prior to Klopp's arrival. I do worry for the growth of players such as Jones (personally feel the lad is ready to compete for a first team birth) but it is exceedingly hard to find a complaint right now. Still have to go out there and do the business on the pitch of course, but our future is destined to be quite bright over the next four years.

Coutinho was never thing. Klopp shut that down multiple times BUT clearly, none of that was enuff. IMO, Coutinho was only "news" except for some desperate fans twerking for signings so they can brag about LFC signing someone even tho, it was never going to happen, IMO.

Meister your rebuffs were mostly all of the ‘he doesn’t fit our style of play’ variety which has now proven to be untrue. There always was / is a place for a Coutinho-like player in our squad imo.
It’s clear that he shouldn’t have left, Van Dijk was coming anyway, but there you go.
Time moves on, things evolve. Klopp made do with what he had at his disposal after Coutinho’s departure but I still maintain that we’d have been a great side anyway if he’d stayed.

JK, I did say that. What you failed to say in my posts were that IF Klopp wants him then, there is definitely something he sees that he can offer us and I would defer to Klopp on that. That was what I said. Check the record. Just saying facts.

You say, "It is clear that he should not have left". Clear to who else but yourself? IMO, Klopp was going to accommodate him even tho Klopp said in an interview during lockdown that we were becoming too predictable cos everything went thru him.

Now, You may feel that we would have have needed him and that is fair as that is your opinion BUT the facts and the reality did not and does not support your theory. We were better without him and grew from strength to strength without him, Just facts, bro. Peace and Love.

Rm you did say if Klopp wanted him. But that was about 2 weeks after telling us it was a nothing story because it didn’t make financial sense. And you just you said that. So record was checked and it was facts mate. Not calling you out on anything mate I enjoy reading your posts 💪.
