Ed's are you aware if there has been a break through with talks with Gini With him now staying put? Also if he is staying dies that put an end to Thiago arriving or are they not related?

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you mean by "break through".}

It’s actually Breakthru Ed, one of Queens greatest moments.

I think we’ll gave the same team this season tbh like the last 2 just gone. Gini will stay and Thiago won’t come in.
Ali Trent VVD gomez Robbo, Fab Wij Hendo, front three 👍🏻.

Thiago I think should still be considered even if gini stays. Milner will no longer be here next summer. Gini and hendo into their 30s, keita and OX still to prove they can be regular starters and consistently fit and lallana now gone. If grujic moves on and with Curtis Jones being developed patiently also we could benefit from thiagos qualities and experience for a few seasons at least. With us competing to win every competition and a shortened season ahead with games coming thick and fast each week we will want the strenght and depth to adapt to any injuries or fatigue that could leave us exposed. The season ahead will only add to the likelihood of players getting knocks and without a proper pre season also teams could see their squads looking thin at periods ahead. We need to take the chance to strenghten if we can generate the funds of course.

Har, we should buy Thiago without shipping out a midfielder?

Because One of our players won’t be here next season, we should overload our CM options now?

Because Hendo and Gini will be into their 30’s? So will Thiago by the way and turning 30 means absolutely nothing, 33 upwards sure, but not 30.

Lallana doesn’t come into the equation. He barely played and all of those minutes can and should go to Curtis Jones.

If we bought Thiago now without selling a CM, we have:

Hendo
Fab
Keita
Ox
Gini
Milner
Jones
Thiago

That’s 8 players for 2/ 3 positions which is not sustainable for people to get a satisfactory amount of game time.

I’m all for Thiago joining, but only if someone else leaves from that list.

That's a fair opinion. I just feel that we should snap him up now as it's not often a player of his quality is available at that price and eager to join. You list 8 players for 3 positions but it's not hard to imagine 2 or 3 not always fit and available every week. The likes of ox seems to be used more regularly lately in wide areas instead of midfield as Jones can too be used as a wide option.

The main reason I want him in is because his style of play is different and can be key in mixing up our midfield and adding more variation. Milner will be gone next season so why not bed in a top player now. We rarely have every one of those players available at same time and more likely that we would see previous injury prone players miss out on large chunks and rotating will be crucial in a crammed season.

I do see your point though and can't argue too much as I agree midfield isn't a necessity but it's only because the calibre of player and price is too good to pass on.
