Been reading a lot of post over the last 3 week's. This is my take in the season ahead.
We have strenthened in the area we have needed to, left back. This is the area that has let us down. Much love to milner but we lack attacking fear when he plays as he has to Lways cut back to cross. Would. i like an experienced attacker? No. Why buy minamino if we need anyone else. He needs time but I see as a good cover for the front 3. The rest? We need to trust youth. We can't have it both ways. People moan we don't give youth a chance then want to buy players for all areas. Jones looks promising for next year and we have a few other for the next couple of years. Given the take that kloop was given and what he has achieved I kind if trust him.
Okay, Chelsea have spent and look good, but they needed to the close the gap. We finally have a manager that knows what he is doing
Trait in him.

The way I see it we have strengthened the one position that was a must, a back up to Robertson. We also have 3 young kids that will be able to contribute more this season in Elliott, Jones and Williams. I am excited for the upcoming season.

And don’t forget Brewster.

With what’s gone on in the world over the last few months I’m just actually glad that we managed to finish last season and am so excited about this coming season. Obviously it’s not ideal to start without fans in the stadium but we don’t know how lucky we are to get to watch the lads play a new season in just over a weeks time. In an ideal world I would love us to bring in Thiago and it would have been fantasy football if we had signed Werner but the bottom line is we didn’t. This season like every season is going to be a rollercoaster. Klopp and this squad have brought us some amazing moments over the last couple of years and I suppose like kids the more we get the more we want. We’ve become a little spoilt. I’ve noticed on here recently that there’s been bickering but regardless of opinions we should all be pulling in the same direction as fans. We were so far ahead of the pack last season but this season as people have rightly said is a clean slate. I honestly think this seasons battle for top 6 will be the hardest in premier league history looking at some of the sides so even though I think only 3-4 sides can win the title this could be the hardest season to win the title also. I for one can’t wait for the season to start and love reading all opinions on here even if your glass is half full or full to the brim. No one is a better fan than the next.

Maybe we just need a CB to replace Lovren, given Matip's injury record?

Williams is not ready. Not fair for the kid. He had a terrible time against both Burnley and Arsenal. Had a mediocre performance in pre season. The kid needs time to develop likely during cup games. Too risky to use the kid while we attack the title or during CL games.

It’s all jealousy watching Chelsea spending on their brand new players and we’re not doing the same. The fact is though spending big on lots of players very rarely works. Just ask Everton ;-)

It’s the first time since the late 90’s where the prospect of multiple kids making it from the academy is a very real possibility. Elliott, Jones and Williams all grew up supporting the club and are die hard reds, and are the three that look most likely to make it as it stands, possessing talent we haven’t seen at that age for 25 years (Sterling aside) .

Brewster, Van Den Berg, Hoever, and Koumetio all look like they could be very capable of stepping up in time, certainly they all look more promising than anything we have had talent wise in the academy for years, just depends on how they develop. We have Minamino and Tsimikas who are both very good players who are still bedding into the side, i think Minamino will surprise a lot of people with how good he is. Keita is looking better than he ever has before and Ox is returning to full fitness after a horror injury.

We are clearly filling out the squad from within using what we already have. I’d much rather save the money now and give Minamino and Brewster a chance than spunk it all on Werner and not have it for when we actually need it. When you think about how much better our squad looks for all these players emerging than it did last season, how can anybody complain?

The only position that really worries me is left wing as divock doesn’t seem to ever do very well out there, and the team could still yet get taken up a level if Gini does leave and Thiago comes in as his replacement. People just aren’t using their heads and are throwing a strop without thinking about what we actually need, you’d think we were in some kind of crisis and didn’t possess arguably the best starting 11 in the world.

If the prospect of having several young, hungry liverpool supporting players coming through and not having their paths blocked into the team doesn’t tickle your fancy, but If it excites you that Chelsea are spending hundreds of millions on shiny new players they arguably don’t even need, then i question whether you truly understand the values of Liverpool football club.

I’m excited for this season, signings or not.
