I have no idea if mane stays or goes but I'm not sure why it would come as a massive shock if he does. The front 3 are all 28 and FSG will want to sell before contracts wind down or they get too old, when we talk about signings the Eds constantly tell us that there are worries about sell on potential if they are over a certain age. If the intention is to rebuild a younger side over the next 2/ 3 years then it would make sense that you might look to move one of mo or mane on in the next 12 months and find a younger replacement, the trouble is I don't think one exists at their level. We have VVD, Hendo, wiji, mane, salah and firmino all 28 or over we are not a super rich club and can't afford for all of them to get old, I can see 3 or 4 of the 6 moving on in the next 2 to 3 years.

{Ed0666's Note - Klopp has some rebuild to do and if he sacrifices Mane to start it than so be it. I think selling him is a little premature as he’s only just turned 28 and would harm us more than benefit us in the short to medium term. As I said in a previous thread I’d be shocked if he was sold in the next few weeks.

I guess that is the nature of the beast with investors though, at 28 their value is high (perhaps €120mil) this time next year at 29 it will be less and in their 30s they are not bringing in mega money so you would assume if they want to maximise return some of the higher end players will need to move on in the next 2 years. It's a fine balance though because if they get it wrong we're right back where we were 4 years ago.

Den82, selling the best players in the team (no, Coutinho was not one of them) rarely works in the said team’s favour.
If we start selling the likes of Mané, that lovely growth we’ve seen in the last few years, built off the back of winning trophies and having world class players, will flatline. It is short-sighted to be considering letting a player of his quality leave at age 28.
