Hi Ed’s, after watching Brewster these last few games and seeing how he faired in the EFL last season personally I’d be keeping him with a view to him breaking into the first team this season over origi, do you know what LFCs plans are for him? Is he going back out on loan?

{Ed001's Note - it is undecided yet but I would think it most likely he joins someone such as Leeds on loan for the season.}

Cheers eds, I had a feeling you might say that, Leeds would be a very good fit for him as well.

{Ed001's Note - I think so too.}

I’m at a loss with all these people wanting Origi sold.
If he wants leave, that’s fair enough though I’m not aware he’s asked to.
He was deservedly given a new contract following his performances and goals and he’s done nothing wrong since.
And to replace him with an untried kid is crazy.
I said that I think Brewster will go out on loan, and I still remain unconvinced how he gets into this Liverpool side.

Leeds would be perfect Ed001 good call.

{Ed001's Note - good to work with Bielsa.}

Im not just saying it, I swear. When I thought what loan would suit brewster I came up with Brighton (try to play nice football and keep the ball down) or Leeds.

You know you've just jinxed any chance of him joining Leeds now.

{Ed001's Note - probably but they desperately need a striker as Bamford is awful.}

Personally for the amount of goals that Origi scored last season and minutes on the pitch I don't see how Brewster couldn't do the job, maybe even better if I'm honest.
If we want to give Brewster a real chance then Origi's place seems the obvious one to take.
We shouldn't get caught up on the sentiment because Origi has scored a few very important goals, he will always be respected for that but it doesn't mean he should stay because of that.
So for me its sell Origi (we could do with the cash), keep Brewster and use the money where necessary in another department.

{Ed001's Note - and then his progress is stagnated by barely playing. Doesn't make sense.}

Would love Brewster at Leeds, he would seriously improve them and we would get a season of experience for Brewster. But if he can’t get a PL side I would still keep him in and around the team, injuries will be big this year and him as an option could be a bonus.

Looks like Leeds have agreed a fee for Rodrigo, shame if that stops a move for Brewster.

Personally i think he should stay. I don't see why he can't compete with Firmino in the same way Jesus competes with Aguero. Jesus has scored about 60 goals in 3 full seasons making well over 100 appearances in the process.

It's a squad game and we have a great young player who should be training with, playing with and playing against the best. I have to disagree with the majority on this thread. He has too much to offer us to be wasted propelling somebody else up the table. You can see he is a natural goalscorer from his loan and the last 2 friendlies alone. Tap ins, instinctive finishes, spectacular long range goals. Kid has the lot and i'm going to side with Ed002 on this. I really hope he gets a chance at Liverpool this season.

I'd like him to stay, think he would get more minutes than Origi because he's a better player. And because even in this modern age of football where a forwards game is about "more than scoring", the most important think is putting the round leather thing in the back of the net and Brewster is the best out and out finisher at the club. A season of playing every week in the Premier League may be great for him but I remember Tammy Abraham chasing fullback down for 90 mins every week living off scraps while on loan at Swansea a couple of years ago. Its the teams that are expected to be down at the bottom that would be promising him game time and if it is to be anything like Abraham's loan I don't see how that aids his development at all Will only kill his confidence.

Spot on Jadon Havertz. Exactly why i ate loans. Most of the time it's playing against a lower calibre of opposition or playing with a lower calibre of team mate.

Brewster will learn more at Liverpool than Leeds, Brighton, Swansea or who ever else decides they want him this summer. Most of the teams who will offer him the right environment to develop probably wouldn't be looking at loan deals. Swansea was a great place for him to regain his confidence and get fit. Time to let him shine now. Great post mate.

Noooo, boooo, keep Rhian and play him!
Bobby is my favourite player but Rhian will score as many goals in half the minutes. We need both!

Everyone's development is different. Sturridge had multiple loans at "lesser" clubs and then burned it up for us before injuries hit. We should look down our nose at Brighton et al and focus more on the manager, their playing style and playing time.

{Ed002's Note - One. A six month loan to Bolton.}

I have posted a few times on this topic as well, would prefer a loan for Brewster to continue his development.

Posting again as I just can't believe anyone sees Brewster as competition for Bobby, crazy talk. He's miles off Bobby and even if he scored more in half the minutes I guarantee Liverpool would score less.

I hope Brewster makes it with us but I think he's after just half a season of senior football so his best chance is from a full season loan now and come back ready to stake a claim.

Origi got 0 goals in over 32 sub appearances last season, and only 4 in 42 games, the argument he scores goals just simply isn’t there anymore. Brewster has to be prioritized over Origi going forward, give him a chance.

{Ed0666's Note - I honestly feel sorry for Divvy. The guy has been nothing but a first class employee and we wanna show him the door. We have short memories. Strikers need momentum and a run of matches something he’s never been given the luxury of. I for one won’t be dismayed if he stays over Brewester who has scored 3 goals in meaningless friendliest that prove nothing.

Sean, hi! I'm from Dublin myself and Bobby has been my fave player for a few years now. But I Heart Brewster!
We have no better alternative to Firmino atm. Rhian deserves his chance and will take it by scoring.
Taki can replace Origi. So, can you please explain why we should let such a natural goalscorer go score 10+ goals for another Premier League club this season? I'd rather he does it in Red.

Origi spent a season on loan at Wolfsburg and at lille after we signed him and despite more regular playing time he had his worst 2 seasons. If Brewster played as often as a below par origi has been for us he'd have every chance to shine and play well enough to deserve more action than origi gets even though he's not performing he still gets used a lot. Firmino doesn't play 90 mins most games and Brewster could be a gem if he knows that klopp will be calling upon him to aid our attack week in week out through the season. Brewster will be confident he's better than origi and will aim to prove that knowing he can then earn plenty of opportunity to push the others ahead of him. Rashford, Greenwood, Kane, Trent, sancho, AWB, saka all could break through despite not using a loan stint to help.

Hi Jurgen, Brewster is nowhere near Bobby's level at this stage. I think a full season on loan where he is first choice would be brilliant for his development and he would come back to us a much better player.

I don't see him starting more than 6 league games if he stays with us. Minamino has a lot more experience and should be better placed to cover Bobby.

In terms of scoring 10+ goals, would be brilliant if he got over 10 league goals this season but I don't think he'll get enough minutes to do that for us. What's the issue if Leeds were to get those goals? We aren't competing with Leeds.

I want a better Brewster for us for the next 5-10 years not just this season.
