We cannot lose opening fixture!

Manchester United are the only team EVER to have won the Premier League title after losing an opening match in both the 1992/ 93 and 95/ 96 seasons.

That is quite a stat- no pressure then (away West Ham if leaked list was correct :)

Statistics are irrelevant and mean nothing. 78% of all people know that.

Lol why people pay attention to stuff like this is beyond me.

Firstly you are paying too much attention to seemingly meaningless stats.

On top of that you yourself have given proof that the stat you mentioned doesn't/ hasn't hold up.

Liverpool will win the league next season if they drop less points than any other team. Doesn't matter which gameweek you drop the points as long as over the course of the season other teams drop more points. Simple?

OP, Stats (esp. one that far gone) mean nothing. Spain lost their first game in a WC in 2010 and back then, no team had won a WC after losing it's first game. Who won the WC in 2010 again? Exactly. Stats are pretty worthless, bro.

We will win the PL by winning more points than the rest. That is the stat that matters regardless of how many games you lose and when you lose them. Cheers, man.

Don't shoot the messenger reds :) . Merely passing on something that I thought was interesting and surprising. Records are there to be broken.
