I for one know klopp is the best manager in the world bar none but I think we should all stop and give some considerable thanks to the owners who actually took a pretty big risk with asking king Kenny to step aside for bredan then having the guts to get rid of their man to bring in klopp
I hear a lot of things said about net spend and tight owners but for me since I started supporting Liverpool they are hands down the best owners I have had the pleasure of seeing run my beloved club
Thanks you FSG.

Definitely John mate. Absolutely echo that sentiment. Sends shivers through me thinking how happy I was when we got over the line this season. And they've done that. They came in, made some promises, and delivered.

I love the way Jurgen said: We really need a better keeper. Well go and spend whatever it takes to get the best on the planet.

We have a great team but that defence is iffy: go and spend whatever it takes to get the best cb on the planet.

We have a top player in Henderson, he's wasted as a DM: (first day of the transfer window) bang, here's 40mil, will that do?

Salah, ox, mane, gini all 30+mil. This was before the neymar deal when 30 odd was huge. When 50 seemed dizzying.

They lifted the curse of the bambino. I didn't know about that until 2 or 3 years ago. When I knew I really started to believe (every single season, Hodgson or w/ e I always believed) but it was a different sort of belief. Stronger. Absolute legends.

{Ed002's Note - Alisson was not Klopp's choice.}

Na, I’ll give the credit to Klopp and his team.
FSG have been largely good, especially for off-pitch performance, where we’ve clearly improved massively.
Comparing them to previous ownership wouldn’t be appropriate either given the heinous owners we’ve had over recent decades, FSG don’t deserve to be compared to such.
Getting rid of Brendan and hiring Klopp wasn’t a risk, not doing so would have been sheer negligence.
Klopp is the reason the club is back where it belongs and that’s that. The only difference between FSG of years 1-5 to 5-10 is that Klopp is one of the greatest of all time, not much else.

Lowel you make little sense you give credit to klopp but not the guys who brought him here
Silly really mate.

Oblak was klopp's favourite wasn't he? But my point was more about the owners backing klopp to go buy the best about.

{Ed002's Note - That would have been the transfer committee backing a scouts choice.}

I think what Lowell is saying that it took 5 years for FSG to get it right, which is a pretty accurate statement. A tale of 2 halves I guess.

I know this isn't popular but BR was so close to winning that title, with a far inferior team. I know it was mostly kenny's suarez but.

Like many other Reds I am very happy to have FSG as the owners and stewards of LFC. They did get some decisions wrong about managers before hitting the jackpot with Klopp! So glad they made the right choice, and as long as Jurgen is happy, so should we be, he is the best manager we could possibly have.

Lowel mate, we do give klopp and his team massive credit. This last year its everyone just praising them. We give them all the credit. I think John (who always speaks sense, agree with him or not) was just saying; while it's awards season, we should take a moment to appreciate what our owners have done. And it's not just the team winning. Look at our new stand, it's awesome. They are building state of the art facilities for the boys. They're taking us to the next level in every way I can think of, and i am extremely grateful. Living on that league Cup win in 2013? Was getting pretty thin eh. 3 European finals no6 in the bag. A Premier league title, sometimes I slips my mind, and then I think "were the champions! All year! "

love the positivity for klopp on this banter page, sometimes feels like he's getting battered on the rumours page for a bit of head-hunting! so what! lossers concentrate on winners, winners concentrate on winning!

Cheers Robbie your a good sort
Just seems a lot of the days some fans are becoming spoilt and not remembering where we used to be and the team we had And owners as well .

I think the main person bashing him is ed2 lol which is always going to get negative responses on a Liverpool page. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion, that's what makes it so interesting. I love FSG and always have, great owners. You may notice that Waro isn't around anymore. I doubt he's celebrated the title as he hates FSG so much. YNWA.

13.) 15 Aug 2020
15 Aug 2020 20:32:44
your right about options dom, everyone has the right to one. I just don't understand our own fans bashing him for wanting to do what ever it takes to make our club winners (which he's bloody successful at by the way) I don't want to go back to what we had before but its like people would prefer an ethical looser than a winner (by what ever it takes)!

I was getting carried away with all the Sarr chat. "we could sell origi and if we're lucky we could sign Sarr". The lads scored 5 goals I think this season.

Then I watched our road to Madrid. And thought" what is everyone talking about? Origi doesn't get many opportunities, but when you need him, he knocks in an absolute worlie" He's 5 times the player Sarr is.

You're right John, fans are spoilt and so used to fifa and football manager they seem to want new signings just for the sake of it. Happy to ship out our cl hero and drooling over relegation fodder like Sarr. I get that Sarr is a winger I suppose, but no comparison for me. Be careful what you wish for. If origi goes, I think we could regret it.

@BigBadDom good point on Waro, was always extremely negative about FSG. He definitely felt he had his reasons but I don't think there would have been any pleasing him. It would be good to know if he has actually enjoyed what we have won the past two seasons, especially the league of course.

I’ve got a sneaky feeling Ed002 is not fussed on Klopp 🤣🤣🤣.

{Ed002's Note - What I have I said about him.}

I do give FSG credit, guys, especially for how they’ve developed us on the non-playing side.
In any other sphere, they’d be considered ideal owners - sustainably and organically developing the club, not leaving it up to its eyeballs in debt, shrewd purchasing and selling of talent, not taking money out of it. All these things, great.
But the credit for returning us to the top goes to Klopp and his team. Klopp is fighting against other elite clubs that spend much larger sums of money and with owners who treat the game like a virtual one, and he’s thrashing them. Without Klopp, we simply wouldn’t be where we are nor, I suspect, anywhere close it.

LoweLFC Sorry, you cannot give credit to the employee without giving credit to the guys writing his checks. If John Henry had his way and not allowed himself to be convinced that Klopp was the right man, Klopp would not be here and none of this happens, end of story.

So the idea that Klopp gets more credit than the owners who actually put their ego to the side, listened to their very own employees (the analytics team) against their initial reservations, hired Klopp and gave him the power/ means to do all he has done, is laughable IMO.

By the same measure, therefore Meister, it would be fair to criticise FSG for their past appointments and mistakes. For, prior to Klopp’s arrival, it was very much a case of two steps forward and one or two back again.

20.) 16 Aug 2020
16 Aug 2020 11:57:45
The Juicer, of course FSG get criticized for their bungling of several situations (some they have bungled even after Klopp arrived) and even they themselves have admitted it so in no way, am I absorbing them of blame when they deserved it.

I have slated them for the ticket price issue 4 yrs ago, the furlough disaster, the whole idea of including themselves in that pathetically desperate letter by 9 PL clubs demanding that City be punished for their CAS issue and so on.

I believe in consistency so if they do well, they get credit. If they screw up, they get the business from me. Just facts, man.

To give credit to klopp, there is also credit due to FSG. They appointed him and they pay his wages. Every set of owners makes mistakes, look at Newcastle, but fundamentally they have done brilliantly so far. They are head and shoulders above any recent owners and long may they continue.
