Seems like Lewis was the better choice if we are to go with the Greek lad - homegrown and similar cost, but is younger and has prem experience.

I think both are good options, I'm happy with Tsimikas. Remember Salah and Gini weren't 1st choice options either an they worked out pretty well, it's no biggy that Lewis didn't work out.

From what I've seen of Tsimikas he is more than able of coming in and being a good back up for us. Good deal.

Never seen the Greek guy play. Lewis seemed like a good professional and obviously homegrown, but the Greek lad looks closer to the finished article from footage. Can't really make a comparison though. I'm not really an avid fan of Greek Football or the Europa League. Another ridiculous name which I'll learn to spell (a la Mkhitaryan) only for him to not sign!

It'll be interesting to see if Liverpool get anything back from Norwich, led to believe that Norwich refused to negotiate at all when the first bid was rejected, especially with Jamal Lewis' heart and head already moving to Liverpool. Basically will Norwich want an unhappy player hanging around?

Yeah I’ve never seen the Greek lad play, but it’s seems odd bringing someone in from abroad who has to acclimatise, get used to the league and the language - whereas for what seems to be a similar cost - maybe a 5 million more (pure guesswork on my behalf Ed002 before you step in ;) ) we could get a young player who has seemed to fit our mould, grounded hard working, and less of a bedding in period.

Not my call of course, but with the limited HG spaces, backup left back doesn’t strike me as a necessity.

{Ed002's Note - I would agree.}

I think LB is absolutely a necessity. Robertson has been ran into the ground playing 50 odd games a season, we're 1 serious injury away to having to rely on a 34 year old right footer at LB (No direspect to Milly) .

Seen as Larouci wants out, Lewis isn't of the standard we need a LB.

Maybe Lewis would have been better due to being homegrown, but stumping up 20 mil odd for a back up left would appear unwise in our situation. Just my opinion of course.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp's first choice and suddenly he is not of the standard for Liverpool.}

Where did I say that? 😂 I literally said in my post above I think they're both good options 🤦‍♂️ oh dear.

{Ed002's Note - "Lewis isn't of the standard we need a LB". Says very little for the manager doesn't it.}

Adam Lewis Ed, as was also mentioning our other LB Larouci.

{Ed002's Note - Actually Larouci is very well thought of.}

20mil for Lewis was just too much when you consider we really need a cb too.

The young lad at Norwich must be gutted though eh, what a disappointment for him. One minute off to the champions league and now playing championship football. Surely there must be interest from other clubs eds? Who is spurs lb? Is it still Davies? And aren't Chelsea on the lookout for a lb? I seem to remember them being interested in Chilwell. And then if they got him Leicester would need someone.

{Ed002's Note - Spurs have other targets but Crystal Palace have an interest and Leicester could yet turn to him, but they too have other targets.}

Maybe in the long run Palace might be a better move for Lewis. More likely to play often, and if he continues to impress, there is still time for a big move.
