Ed1 few questions for ya!
Did you believe klopp would win the league when he first signed with lfc or did u think he would go close but with pep coming cause us to miss out?

Where do you think klopp now fits in with our past managers? Top 3? Ahead of kenny?

Are fsg now capable of pushing us on to greater things i know they have taken a decade to get there but the state the club was in it be great to see this continue beyond klopp in the years to come.

{Ed001's Note - 1. Yes, I said a fair while before we ever went for him that he would be the one to bring us back the league if we got him. I don't rate Pep as much as others do, Klopp is a better manager imo.

2. Difficult one, Kenny won more than one league title, but had Paisley's help and then all the emotional and mental problems of dealing with Hillsborough took its toll. Second time round he did not get the time to really build his own team but he did win a cup. Kenny never had the chance to compete and win in European competition or the Club World Cup, so it means it is not really a fair comparison. However, as Klopp was starting off with a team falling apart at the end of the Rodgers' reign and turned it around before turning it into European, World and Premier League champions, it is impossible not to give the nod to him, just.

3. The hardest thing to do is maintain success, particularly when your rivals have more money to spend. Long term you would have to fear for their ability to keep us right on top, but for the short to medium term I think we should be able to keep winning things. If we can do that, then it will increase long term revenue and maybe put us in a position to compete equally with everyone.}

Ed1 just in regards to point no.3 you made, surely with the planned expansion of the Anfield Road end this will bring in significant more revenue?

Is there many hospitality sweets planned for this end?

{Ed001's Note - it is not as significant an amount as you seem to think, not when you factor in the cost of rebuilding. As for hospitality suites, there will always be a place found for as many as can be squeezed into modern Prem stadia as they are where the money comes from. You have to pay for the expansion, which will most likely be done through loans and repayments will swallow most of the money made until the loans are paid. It is a very long term factor, in the short term you have time without the seats, as well as having to pay for the rebuild.}

If only they could start the development now whilst there are no fans to be impacted.

Sorry for annoying you again ed1, just in regards to the contract we signed with Nike, is the contract we signed looking like good business now, bearing in mind the impact of C.V. or should we have held out for more money and less percentages from kit sales?

{Ed001's Note - we will still sell plenty of kits, especially as Prem champions, so business-wise it was good. The only real issue is the bad taste left in the mouth from the way we dealt with New Balance at the end to move over, but that is just one of those things that happens sometimes.}

So Ed, while we can't invest in the team this summer, do you see us having a transition season next season while we bed in the youngsters to push on the following season?

My reasoning is that with the likes of Man U, Chelsea, city investing in their squads, they will narrow the gap or surpass us even. We will also find it difficult to maintain the same levels as players will inevitably fall off, relax etc

I can see us having a good season winning a few cups etc but we will find it very challenging to retain back to back titles without investment tbh.

This is not a dig at the club in any way, I understand the financial situation, although I do find it incredibly frustrating lol.

{Ed001's Note - I don't understand your reasoning at all. Why are we suddenly going to drop off?}

It's the evolution of things nowadays in the business World. Everyone has the classic "what have you done for me lately" posture and attitude. We started wih their Warrior brand, moved to New Balance and then I would say we outgrew them. If Adidas were to come across with better terms, FSG's team of lawyers would look into it. How else do we catch up commercially with the ManU's, Reals and Bayerns of this World?

{Ed001's Note - we didn't outgrow them, they were never big enough when we agreed the deal but they were growing to match us. Same way Under Armour did when Steph Curry exploded. If we keep stepping on people climbing up, we will end up back in the same crap we were in before, as no one will want to work with us if we stop winning trophies.}

Hospitality sweets on a sliding price range -
Milky Way - basic
Mars Bar or Snickers - mid
Ferrero Rocher - now you’re talking man 😀.

{Ed001's Note - are they allowed to serve Ferrero Rocher at a football ground? They are only for ambassador's parties aren't they??}

Is there a way to move up without stepping on people, Ed001? 🤔.

{Ed001's Note - of course, by working with them to move forwards together. For instance, New Balance were struggling with a lack of stores to sell merchandise from, why not partner up on some Liverpool stores that also had a section for other New Balance merchandise in those areas that were missing out? There are already LFC-franchised stores, so why not just expand that as a part of a Liverpool expansion. That was the main issue, so it could have been worked on together, instead of just dropping them.

To be perfectly honest, Liverpool's strategy has not been aggressive enough in the area of merchandise anyway. We have left it to the kit supplier far too much when there have been numerous places crying out for an LFC-branded store. Our marketing is still way behind the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea.}
