Just want to know people's feelings on how good Curtis Jones is going to be? He looks like the sort of player we need and he as an eye for goal, I see him in the mould of the Ox just hope he is more consistent. He doesn't try to many tricks either, he is quite direct.

Too soon to judge but on the game against Everton and yesterday looks like he is direct wants to score and knows when to pass
The rest will come in time but I’m happy next season he looks like getting his chance to be a squad regular.

I agree he can step into place that Lallana will leave in the squad. Hopefully he will get more game time next season which is what he needs right now to kick on.

Him and Trent at centre mid with neco at right back would be brilliant in a couple of seasons from now hendo and gini are both 30 so could see it happening. Trent is a natural centre mid.

I like what i see from Curtis Jones, he seems to have that arrogance needed to play for liverpool, he is not overawed by his teammates or surroundings, has a happy knack of getting into goalscoring positions and he is not scared to shoot, yesterday's cameo sums him up nicely.
As long as he does not stop listening to the coaches and manager and continues to work hard, he should have a very bright future in the game.

Mighty Reds, you make an interesting comparison and I think you are right. Curtis Jones may well become the sort of central midfielder that Klopp has tried to convert Chamberlain into. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though it's going to happen for Chamberlain, as we approach the end of his third season with us, he was dreadful last night. Jones will bring, already brings, mobility, skill and goals.

Just from that one pass to Keita for the first goal, which was from right smack in the center of midfield, TAA looks good in that role. But I have no idea if he can do the other things the present midfield incumbents are doing, to take their place. Since Klopp was hinting at it, by playing Williams and TAA at the same time, maybe this is a new option to help with some of our midfield creativity misgivings? I don't think you can compare Ox with TAA. Completely different type of players with different strengths. But good to have both because for different types of opposing teams you need those options. If Curtis Jones can fulfil the "Lampard" role of always being in the right place at the right time from center midfield (and score), I think it would add a lot to our midfield puzzle and make things easier for our play from the wings.

If TAA is going to make it as a CM he will have to improve his concentration defensively. Against Villa he dawdled back on a few occasions giving Grealish far too much room. Going forward and range of passing great but defensively not so much.

Watching him in the u23 my concern was that he had a tendency to switch off defensively and not do the hard yards. He also was prone to trying one too many tricks in dangerous positions which wouldve been ok if he was willing to try and it win it back when he lost it. Something he failed to do a few times leading to conceding goals.

Im sure Klopp and Pep are keeping an eye on that as I can't see them allowing him to get away with that.

Jones and TAA are both young. I hope they are the future engine room of our midfield for years and years.
