Ed1 how do you see next season panning out? Do you expect lfc to pick up from where we left off this season and continue to dominate the league? Who do you think the main challengers will be and do you see pep staying or leaving?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I can't see us being anything other than challenging for the title again, but I don't know what will happen with Pep. I doubt even he does right now. Whether he stays or goes, City will be there or thereabouts. Chelsea have improved, so you have to expect them to challenge. Then it will most likely be between Wolves and Man Utd as to who else is up there. I don't see Leicester doing anything other than falling away as Brendan coaches them, even at Celtic there were grumblings about how they were going backwards under him and he has never been able to sort out defences. Of the rest, it just depends who can keep their players fit and firing as to who can do the best.}

Chelsea will be a serious threat. They have improved vastly. Bought some good players and they aren’t done yet. They also have the best academy in England by a long shot.

We're going to finish with no losses, and only one draw for the entire season, of course. 😉.

It's between us and City imo. We'll find out how much of their problems this season were down to having to put their tactical fouling engine at center back instead of midfield, and how much was down to Pep wearing the players out.

As for ourselves, the only worry I have is either a long-term injury to Robertson or van Dijk - I know Gomez has been on van Dijk's level and Matip's been good too, but they lack the imposing presence and rep that van Dijk has that causes some strikers to mentally quit before they've even kicked off against us. We can mitigate against that in the transfer market though. The other danger is mental and physical fatigue from doing 2 nearly 100 point seasons in a row. (I'm assuming we'll keep our form up this season and breach 100 pts)

I think Chelsea need another season. They have bought well, but the gap they have to bridge is really big. 32 points at this moment in time.

I expect they'll be a bit like we were in 2017/ 18, a lot of quality in attack and capable of beating any team on their day, but lacking a bit in consistency and not quite at our level at the back. I certainly wouldn't want to play them at a crucial point in the season, but I just think sustaining league winning form for the year might be a bit beyond them.

Season after with their new recruits more settled, and maybe a defensive reinforcement or two and they will be extremely dangerous.

United, Spurs and Wolves will be miles away. Arsenal and Leicester will be light years away.

Arsenal. dark horses? I'm only joking.

Ed001 - The rot is starting at Leicester already. Since they beat Newcastle 3-0 on the 1st of January, they've only beaten lower division opposition in the FA Cup, and Villa and West Ham in the league.

{Ed001's Note - not really a surprise when they have Brendan in charge. The rot was always going to arrive at some point. But his friends in the media will continue to tell everyone how great he is so no one actually notices.}

I'd personally love it if Arsenal can do well next season. Who knows how they will pan out with a few new players and some older gone.
The manager needs to get this season over with and have a decent pre season and hopefully they kick on from there.

I have more time for Arsenal than most of our competitive rivals in the past decade, but when their level is to go and re-sign Luiz for another season, it's hard to see anything coming for them but more pain.

Are these the same friends in the media that put out hundreds of thinkpieces in the aftermath of his sacking trying to blag that none of it was actually his fault? Instead everyone was told that it was the transfer committee’s fault, the same committee that had signed Sturridge, Coutinho and Firmino while brendan had personally requested the signings of Borini, Allen and Benteke. Brendan is honestly the most arrogant man the club has probably ever employed since 1892, its only a matter of time before the leicester fans wise up to all of the nonsense that he commits himself to on a daily basis.

I honestly think Man City will struggle even more next season. They failed to replace Kompany this season and are set to lose another leader and club legend in David Silva. Granted they have Bernardo Silva, De Bruyne, Foden etc but I still feel he'll be a huge loss around the club.

On top of that Walker is half the player he was, they need a decent left back, Ederson is slowly being found out without a decent defence and Fernandinho appears to be declining. I think there's a bigger overhaul job there than it seems.

I'd like us to sign back up to Robbo and maybe another goalscorer and I think it will be us and Chelsea fighting for the league. Don't think it'll be anywhere as comfortable though and expect to drop a few more points.

AW, yep it was them. Till this day they are still doing it cos well, when you have friends in the media, they cover for you, just like they do for OGS at Utd and for Pep at City. LC are a sinking ship and everyone can see it. There is a LC fan on youtube who is seeing it as well (won 4 of their last 17 PL games) BUT he is blaming the players. Typical.

As for what we expect for next season, it's going to be us and City again and even City, I'm not so sure cos there is a tonne of uncertainty with the CL ban or if Pep will stay or go cos he is yet to commit to a new deal. Also, rebuilding is NOT what Pep does cos normally when things go stale and pear-shaped, he jumps ship so it will be interesting to see what an how he goes about things.

As for Chelsea, they are improves upfront BUT still have issues at the back and at GK. All in all, I simply don't know where Chelsea and Utd are going to get the 95 to 100 points needed to to challenge both City and LFC next season. I am open to being wrong.

I think Liverpool will fly away with it once again, City will be there, I reckon it'll be a very similar season to this one only with Chelsea doing better. I can't see them challenging for the title though, not yet.

Bledd their next season hinges on the hearing, if they lose CL football I think de bruyne will go and that'll be huge for them.

Good point WR. To be honest I can't see De Bruyne leaving if it's only a season but any more and it's a real possibility.

I think nuno has done a great job at wolves my uncle was a massive supporter and I'm just raging he's not here to see them now . what's your opinion of him ed.

{Ed001's Note - I really like what he has done. He has gradually tweaked his tactical approach to suit the players he has and taken them forward by doing so. He has not stood still and stuck rigidly to the same style, but also not tried to just completely go from one style to another, it has evolved as he has been in charge. That suggests Nuno can still take them further in the future.}

Chelsea have a lot more strengthening to do before they can expect to close the gap with us and city. Their defence needs a big upgrading, ziyech and Werner can only aid them so much. Spurs arsenal I feel will both struggle to bring in the talent they need before next season while United can improve if they make the right decisions with incomings and outgoings. City will need to add a top defender and with sane, Silva heading out the door another quality mid/ attacker. Fernandinho and aguero possibly may not be as influential anymore but Liverpool I feel currently are clearly the best side prepared to lead the pack again. I'm sure klopp and the players will be as hungry to retain and do it again with that winning mentality now firmly engrained in them.

spot on, Har_red92. Chelsea and Utd still have a ways to go and City are filled with a lot of uncertainty regarding the potential CL ban, how they replace players past their prime or going out the door, whether Pep will stay or go or even if he stays, can he do a rebuilding job at City cos normally, he jumps ship when stuff hits the fan. We shall see.
