Thunderbird, someone on here was trying to say that Salah’s goal scoring before he arrived was quite poor in order to make some false equivalency with Traore (whose goal scoring output is actually quite poor) . Facts are that Salah’s scoring and assists were very very good before he arrived, he was just very under rated.

Salah was more of a second striker at Roma playing behind Dzeko! And Roma purely played to his blistering pace. He has matured at LFC. He takes on players now, also tend to go wide or inside out. Salah is more of a complete player today than what he was at Roma. At Roma it was all about his Pace and only Pace.

Salah didn't play as a second striker at Roma. Where did you get that from? He played on the right side of a front 3 but he played slightly more like an actual winger there as the striker was Dzeko who, unlike Firmino, played as a traditional striker. Therefore there wasn't as much space in the middle as Firmino creates by dropping off.

Salah and El Shaarawy/ Perotti were as much the suppliers as they were the goal scorers. Salah still played as a very attacking wide forward in my opinion though. Certainly not behind Dzeko though.

If anyone played behind Dzeko it was Totti. Maybe you've just remembered it incorrectly Mr. Jockey.

Salah played off Dzeko in many games and often in games when Roma player 4 in the middle. Salah was notorious for his blistering pace both at Roma and at Basel. He became a footballer at LFC. It was more like Werner. Put the ball behind and Salah will chase!

Plain Bread, Salah did play off Dzeko at Roma. Dzeko said so himself and the last season Salah spent at Roma, Dzeko was top scorer in Serie A that season.

Before we played them in the CL the season after, Dzeko said that he missed Salah at Roma and was praising him about how he was a good foil for him and how Spaletti (the guy who actually created the Salah we would later sign) created a system that benefited both of them. And when Salah left, Dzeko's numbers took and have taken a big hit and he has not recovered since.
