Finally the Werner saga has drawn to a close (at least for Liverpool) . I've read the comments of Ed002 and would simply like to question the finances of the potential transfers. We are aware that the Chelsea deal for Werner is £50million+ and around 200k a week for salary (huge money) . If Liverpool are reluctant to spend that money on a high quality player then I do not see how the club could fork out a similar fee, if not higher for Diego Carlos, and it be justifiable. Am I looking at it the wrong way or is Diego Carlos nowhere near as costly in terms of wages?

{Ed002's Note - It is not simply the money - it is also the way Liverpool went about the transfer. With limited funds the club needs to prioritise.}

Thanks Ed002, I'm guessing the tapping up was resulting in Liepzig commanding some form of higher fee/ compensation. The majority of journalists have said that they doubt Liverpool will sign anyone in this window, I'm guessing your information suggests otherwise.

{Ed002's Note - If Lovren stays then I would doubt Klopp will be able to sign Carlos or Martinez. But I still expect something to happen.}

Sorry Ed, which Martinez is this we might be interested in?

{Ed002's Note - Lisandro Martinez (CB) watched by Liverpool and Real Madrid but he was not one of the players Ajax agreed to let leave this summer. Others like Diego Llorent, Ben White, Fry, Godfrey and Ferreira have also been considered.}

Damn, I was hoping it was Lautaro Martinez. Absolutely amazing player.

{Ed002's Note - But not a CB.}
