Sorry for the random questions guys. Just bored with no football during lockdown. Which player would you say has been the biggest waste of talent in the premiership. From what I have read. Ravel morrison should have been a top draw player, but didnt/ couldn't apply himself. For liverpool id say collymore. Could have been one of the world's best, but didn't have the right attitude.

Not sure about the entire league, but why couldn't Ryan Babel make it with us? Heard a couple of players talk about his amazing technical ability. He's still going well at Ajax aged 33, so clearly has something about him.

Doesn't quite answer the question as he's not a waste of talent, but an absolute crime to be let go by Arsenal, but I think Gnabry is an outstanding player. Arsenal could have had an amazing player but lost him. Not quite sure if he left because of game time, or Wenger just didn't want him, but he's gone on to be a top player. I remember watching him vs us when he was on loan for Hoffenheim I think, basically their only player and really troubled us.

Gnabry was poorly developed, his loan move to West Brom was the biggest mistake Arsenal made.

On Mr Ryan Babel - My understanding was that when he moved to Liverpool he was not fully focussed on Liverpool and spent a lot of his time and effort on building his music career (I think - although please correct me if I am wrong) .

I think the consensus was that had he spent another year at Ajax, and then moved to us, he could have been a star. I believe this is the opinion that Arsenal had at the time as well - fantastic player but needed another year or two to develop before he was ready for the Prem.

For me biggest "waste" of talent could also be Hatem Ben Afra. Seemed to have unbelievable talent but his attitude got in the way of him hitting his true potential.

Going back further I’d say Collymore was a big waste of talent in prem era. Could have been so much more if he applied himself.

Remember watching collymore and thinking this player has it all. Could shoot' could dribble' could bully players. Should have been an all time great. He just didn't have it mentally. I don't know enough to know whether it was psychological or something else. He should have formed a partnership with fowler that should have rivalled all others.
