Hi Eds, with more talk on the site of tapping up I was wondering if the rules also work the other way around, that is, a player, or his agent, under contract with one club talking to another club without the contracted club's permission? I've read on here several times that Mo's agent spoke to Real Madrid. Surely this is in breach of rules (unless Liverpool knew)? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - That is the job of an agent - to talk to clubs. If players approach another club it is unprofessional but not a breach of the rules - Coutinho is a good example. Strictly speaking the club should refuse any such approaches.}

Hi Eds, I have a contract with my employer but I'm free to meet and talk to other prospective employers but I thought FA rules prohibits a player under contract, or his agent, from talking to other clubs without the consent of the player’s current club. But wouldn't this be restraint of trade?

{Ed002's Note - It is not anything to do with the Premier League - an agent can talk to other clubs as I have repeatedly explained. Players can not.}

Ed02 so if I understand you correctly, Cou courting Barcelona was not against the rules BUT Klopp and the club courting say VVD or Werner directly without their clubs' knowledge, IS a breach of the rules hence, tapping up right? Cheers, man.

{Ed002's Note - Yes. But Barcelona should have stepped back fro Coutinho, but it was difficult to do given where they were at the time - which I explained but you all rejected at the time.}

I bet Barcelona wish they stepped back now. For the price paid he has to go down as their worst ever signing. Well between him and Dembele.
