Watford Chairman's comments were interesting. Agreed there never is altruism in football. However, is it then fair for bigger clubs to think of a breakaway league to get richer and not sign up for equal tv split.

Same stick no hypocrisy policy I would think. Thoughts?

It is entirely unrelated to the breakaway league, I understand. What I was trying to get at it - is the topic of no altruism in football brought up by Mr. Duxbury. I wanted to understand what others thought about this topic. If no altruism holds good, other clubs are then good to look after their interests and find ways to get richer and not settle for fair share of tv split and pursue avenues that allow for it ( could be a breakaway league, pushing for tv rights contract like La Liga)

Hi Ed2, what makes a European club ‘elite’? know you have said that Liverpool are not part of the discussions, which is disappointing from a fan perspective, but I’d love to know who would be a part of the initial breakaway if and when it happens. I think you suggested 2 or 3 from EPL to begin with?

I have to say that I wouldn’t watch it (pay for it) if we weren’t in it, but I guess the plan would be to increase ‘membership’ over time to maximise revenue, then who knows.
