Evening Ed002.

Quick one.

The SPFL has recommended clubs vote in favour of its resolution which involves ending the lower leagues early, while doing likewise with the Premiership, only when it becomes clear the season cannot be completed.

The top flight is left untouched for now in large part because of Uefa's letter which said associations might be denied places in European competitions if they call leagues early.

This letter regarding European places would also apply to the PL?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Ignore the UEFA letter and statements - they are thinking of themselves. It won’t happen.}

The SPFL’s resolution to be put to a vote is that if the leagues cannot be finished, titles, promotions and relegations will be decided on league standings.

Are you saying ed002 that it's not possible for uefa to ban teams from their competition on the basis they did not complete the domestic season?

{Ed002's Note - The rules relating to not completing seasons throughout the game relates to clubs like Bury who unfortunately went bust part way through - there is no provision for situations like this. If UEFA would like to go through a legal process to attempt to ban clubs they will be out of business a lot quicker than people are expecting. If clubs are banned from competition or their recommending Football Association decide to not put clubs forward that is fine. Right now UEFA are making inappropriate statements and are acting in their own interests rather than in the interests from club in countries suffering heavily from this pandemic (like Italy, France and Spain) and those countries who will suffer heavily in the weeks and months to come (like the UK). Many, many people are unhappy with them.}
