Seen discussion of Gini and wanted to add my thoughts. I'm no analyst of the game ( get too excited and follow the ball! ) but imo Gini's strength in midfield is ball recovery. In every match he seems to slip under the radar but time after time, he breaks up attacks by nicking the ball and laying off for a teammate.

I don't know if his stats prove this but in recent matches I decided to watch him more closely cos I wasn't sure I valued him that highly and now I can see how much he does.

Oh, and plays with a grin on his face like he's living out his dream! Wd like him to get more goals but love him as a player and wd be sad to lose him.

Why don't more players play with a smile?
Can't stand looking at Richarlison or Martial when they play the miserable persons!

Just because they are loaded doesn't necessarily change their personality. Maybe away from football they are completely different. Money doesn't buy you happiness.

Players like martial and richarlison get kicked rotten. I'd have a mean face on too.

If gini has been quiet, he's had a good game.

All players are different. Ronaldinho always had a huge buck-toothed smile no matter what was happening or what he was doing on the field. Score a goal and he'd smile. Missed a sitter and he would be smiling. Fouled and he'd still have a smile. Neymar smiles a lot too, except when he's near-fouled and he decides to do flips and Olympic level floor exercise routines. I think it has a lot to do with personality and why they're on the playing field to begin with. The smiling ones seem to be carrying out their life-long dream.
