For ed001 if u r about mate, do u know why the club opted for King Kenny for manager before they gave the job to Roy Evans?

{Ed001's Note - Roy was felt to be too nice.}

Suppose they were right in the end. Cheers ed.

{Ed001's Note - I am not so sure, his problem was those above him.}

How did he deal with Gérard Houllier and the whole joint manager lark mate? He is a legend old member of the boot room but did he feel hurt by the appointment of houllier or was he optimistic about it working?

{Ed001's Note - very hurt, but he wanted to make it work for the club's sake. He loves the club wholeheartedly does Roy. Shame the club treated him so badly. Though that was mostly down to Moores.}

I read your article about parry but didn't know Moores was as bad?

{Ed001's Note - he was the worst owner in our entire existence. He really was that bad that H&G actually improved matters when they took over! That to me says it all.}

The joint manager decision was humiliating for Roy Evans on a personal level and made the club a laughing stock on a world wide level.
Roy Evans will always be a Liverpool legend, what he and Ronnie Moran did for Liverpool will always be appreciated and never forgotten.

Why did ronnie Moran never get a look in for manager?

{Ed001's Note - he never wanted the job.}

Was he ever offered the job mate?

{Ed001's Note - yes a couple of times.}

ed001 I all ways thought Roy should have got the Job straight after Kenny.

{Ed001's Note - Roy should have been given caretaker charge so the King could have a break and recover after the stress of Hillsborough. However we were run by cretins and they didn't have the sense to think that the poor guy was just in need of time away to recuperate.}

ed001 that would have been a great idea and then we would not have had all this talk of fergy being the best manager ever as Kenny would have had us still winning leagues and he would have been sacked. lol.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is that the idea was floated at the time, so it is not like I am even talking with the benefit of hindsight. It was considered and rejected by the board. Huge error.}

Did we move heaven and earth to get Kenny when he returned from his sabbatical? Considering he went on to win the premier league with blackburn and all.

@ Pak - I don't think we did. Souness had been appointed by the time Kenny was back from his extended holiday and in his autobiography he mentions meeting with the Liverpool board after Souness was sacked and being told "the time wasn't right. "
