Been really impressed with Joe Gomez since he came back into the side. I think vvd prefers to play with him cause he's stepped his game up again since Joe came in.

Thought he was slack a couple of times today. Though 8 clean sheets out of the last 9 in the league isn't that bad I suppose.

Irishman, you are right. Jo and Trent were both below their normal high standards today but like all great teams, others stepped up to ensure another clean sheet - most notably Alisson. What a keeper!

I think he completes vvd in a way that vvd does most of the defensive work and organizes the defence but if he gets beat Gomez has the pace to clear lines. Of course he is mostly good with the head too.
He needs to learn the good old fashion wack it across the pitch technique though.

To think he is has not even peaked yet is scary, based on what Square Tomato said the other day, it seems all is rosey in his personal space. Long may it continue.
