I think now is the time too let joe gomez stay at centre back and flourish in his best position . We have Neco William's for trents deputy an gomez should be kept away from right back he is a big lad who doesn't need too b bombing up an down thevwigan potentially getting injuries, we can bed William's in of the bench and in cups .

I think you're spot on hailstone. Looking like the Joe of 18 months ago. Williams looked decent too.

I also think Joe struggles against Crossfield balls over his head when playing RB.

Completely agree Hailstones. Would love to see William's getting more game time there with Milner covering when needed. Gomez never seem's as comfortable at right back and doesn't offer as much going forwards as Milner.

Also, not that I want to see him play there given his brilliance in the middle of the park, but Fabinho was a right back for years. Interesting that we've not used him as cover there (at least from my memory) .

Completely agree with y'all! Cross field balls became a cheap target for the opposition, and somehow, Joe Gomez just couldn't get the handle of it. But now he's had a consistent run at Center Back, he's looking like the Joe Gomez we knew before Ben Mee had his ideas like he recently had with Wesley, both of which he got away with, because "he's a honest lad who never wants to hurt anyone"!
Anyway, back to Gomez, I hope Klopp allows him to continue growing his partnership with Van Dijk. I never thought I'd ever say this, but it seems he's been bailing Van Dijk out a few times lately; certainly has been bailing Trent out a lot!
