I don't think Pope was being anti-Semitic in what he said and what do you make of the rudiger investigation ed.

{Ed001's Note - I didn't see a problem with what Pope said personally but I am sure they will bring up the holocaust etc and throw the book at him. People seem to look for things to be offended by.

I don't know enough about the investigation to know. I would like to think Spurs would have done it properly. }

Might just be me but I find it disgusting that they've vandalised his statue.

Pope’s comments just reinforce the anti Semitic stereo type conspiracy that Jews control the banking systems. I am Jewish. It’s a stupid throw away comment. A little bit of education won’t harm the lad. No need to throw any books at him.

If the FA really wanted to do something about anti Semitic comments they should stop Spurs fans using the Y word. It’s not for non Jewish fans to say that they have taken the word back when they’re not Jewish.

Hate to discuss this on this forum but Pandora’s box was opened by the OP.

I don’t find it disgusting, I find it perfectly understandable. It’s the same as if Liverpool put up a statue of Robbie Fowler, and he repays the club that developed him and gave him his chance, by investing in and becoming part owner of Everton.

{Ed025's Note - how is that understandable KB?, if fowler wanted to invest in everton, or for that matter any everton player wanted to invest in liverpool whats the problem with that?, robbie gave his all while employed by liverpool and how he chose to invest his money has got absolutely nothing to do with anybody bar him, how shallow..

I agree 💯 with you ed, people want to be offended these days just to say something offends them.

{Ed001's Note - it is sad really.}

I just think it’s morally reprehensible, Ed. Zlatan has shown a total lack of respect for the fans and the club - they honor him with a statue (how many living people have a statue built for them? ) and then he throws his lot in with their biggest rivals a few months later. Sorry, in my view it’s just wrong. Some things should be above money but today virtually nothing is.

{Ed025's Note - i think your looking too much into it KB, footballers are just transient employees who do a job just like the majority of us mate..

Agreed Gmil Eds, personally I couldn't think of another banking family and their being Jewish didn't cross my mind till pointed out.

Maybe I am, Ed! It’s not going to make much difference to my life out on the Aran Islands anyway!

{Ed025's Note - your right KB....save me a good looking sheep for when i am out that way mate.. :)

I’ll keep my eyes open for a pretty one, Ed!

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate.. :)

Players don't see the game the same way as us fans. I can understand the fans anger but can understand zlatans position too.

Disgraceful to destroy his statue. The guy has literally been a phenomenon.
