"No one wants to grow up to be a full-back or a Gary Neville" (Trent Alexander-Arnold) .

That's funniest thing I have read in a very long time, ROFL. Carragher needs to take some lessons in merciless put-downs from TAA, I think. 😉.

Trent didn't make that quote up himself, it was actually carragher.

That was a Carragher quote that Trent has used.

Carragher has even followed it up today with a “except Phil” quote.

Brilliant quote from Carra and I thought TAA nailed it. To be fair tho, Gary Neville admitted on Sky that TAA is a better RB than he was so at least, he is honest to some extent.

To be fair, bias aside, Gary had at bucketloads of heart, work ethic and leadership. He was an extremely effective player who made the absolute most of what he had.

Young players should look to emulate those qualities.

Probably take abuse for this one.

Neville was able to play, tbf. Read the game very well. Rob Jones would've been better than him had he stayed injury free though.

If Trent had come through in the 90s when everyone basically played 442 or 4411 he'd have been a right midfielder rather than a right back.

Just when I thought all of us had become battle hardened diehard LFC supporters, all of you guys become softies and send out "peace" roses to Gary Neville, of all people. You've obviously forgotten all the things he has said about us in the past.

Okay. So TAA should continue taking lessons from Carragher. Correction accepted. 👍.

Davey, I think he was a cogg in that system, I agree on his qualities you mention but he had some serious players around him. He did his job competently.
Anyway good on TAA for rejuvenating a great banter quote. ⚽️⚽️✌.

Hate utd of course and hated neville as much as any of them. But he was a great rb.

I wonder where he stands in a list of premier league rbs? I wonder where trent would be?

And something red is spot on, taa would have been a rm/ rw back in the 442 days. Maybe even cm.

I know you don't change what ain't broke, I love trent at rwb but I still wonder what a brilliant cm he would make. Especially as he gets stronger physically and more confident.
