All this talk about Trent being in midfield one day? At this moment, What’s the point, he’s getting time on the ball in areas he wants, he creating tonnes, it suits the way we play, and he’s clearly growing as a player. Also, it’s a lot easier to find a midfielder who can create that a new Trent for right back. Let him stay there, and let him be the best rb in club history!

Would be good to have some versatility though. For example if the opposition were playing a system where he was being pinned back a bit then bring on more defensive rb for a midfielder to allow Trent to push up into midfield and create from there instead.

I used to really enjoy the thought of him in midfield, I kind of still do but he's the best rb in the world for me so why move him? He's thriving, leave him there.

If he was to move into midfield, I'd have him playing in that Henderson/ De Bruyne mezzala role where he can ping crosses in and take shots on, whilst also giving cover to the right hand side.

See yesterday’s first goal and you’ll see why he will be centre mid soon enough.

He's a Right Back. The next Cafu.

To be fair, Trent is pushing more and more forward these days so that he is almost playing in midfield already. I’ve noticed this season his confidence has grown and he is no longer afraid to come inside and drive forward and shoot.
