ed001 have you got any injury updates. Do you think Gini will be ok for the Christmas period I know he was on the bench not sure if he was just sat there to get his medal as he was there any way. and how far away are matip and fabinho.
Cheers ed hope you and all the eds and reds have a great Christmas.
YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - Gini should be fit, unless he has suffered a fresh injury in the last few hours,

Matip is pencilled in for the first game of the New Year, for the bench. He will not be ready to play really but we are short so he is likely to go straight back onto the bench for an emergency.

Fabinho won't be back for the Xmas season. No date given yet for his return, so just fingers crossed he keeps progressing quickly.

Ox is the other one and they have not given out any info about that ankle knock yet. Might be because they are leaving it to be a surprise when he is fit to play next game (I hope anyway!) or it could just be because they don't want to dampen people's spirits over Xmas. Fingers crossed it has turned out to just be bruising.}

It’s a shame but not unexpected the injuries have accumulated but it’s the next 5/ 6 weeks that will shape our season. If we can get through Leicester, Wolves (twice), Sheffield, Spurs and Man U with a healthy lead then it’s all clear for the league. Nothing is guaranteed and the boys have to be professional but we could in theory rest players in the league for the Champions league fixtures.

Of course it all starts tomorrow. One game at a time etc

I really am on a high since Saturday. I have trophy fever!

Ed001 what about Lovern?

{Ed001's Note - sorry took a while I was out then picking up the food for tomorrow. No return pencilled him for him yet as it is fairly serious. Probably looking at February or later.}

Wow. I thought Lovern is not too serious. Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - sadly it is worse than before according to Klopp: "He is out, muscle this time - more serious than last time. We don't have a timeframe." This is the problem with him, Matip and Gomez, they have spent far too much time out injured. At least with Gomez they tend to be injuries that are caused by impacts, so unavoidable and just bad luck. Matip and Lovren seem to suffer a lot of muscular injuries, which is suggestive of a weakness somewhere or some kind of issue. A few years ago I would have wondered if they had dental problems, but I believe we now check the teeth.

In case anyone is wondering why I would think that, when Smicer was with us he suffered lots of minor injuries that were down to dental issues. Gum disease etc can cause lots of knock-on problems. Lots of European clubs have made new signings undergo dental checks as part of their standard medical, but English clubs never did. I am pretty sure I remember someone saying we now make sure our players have regular dental checks now though, rather than just leaving them to sort their own teeth out.}
