I must say naby keita has been a huge let down, both in quality an attitude I expected way more just even in the type of character he has . Honestly I can't see him progressing with us and can seeing him out the club by the start of next season the way he is going .

This feels like an overreaction, yes he's been disappointing so far but he's also been incredibly unlucky with injuries. They've greatly hindered his development and more importantly not allowed him the time needed to adapt. Unless his 'attitude' is impacting other players I don't see why we should sell him at would probably be a huge loss. He's still only 24.

We're stacked in the midfield so if there's one thing we can afford him, its time.

I can't really argue with that. I've seen nothing otherwise to defend the lad, young Curtis seriously showed him up when he replaced him that's all I can be sure of. We mention attitude but there's no talent there, there's just nothing but a poor touch, poor passing and he's weaker than academy players. I thought he was going to replace Gini/ Hendo but he's a million miles away atm.

What’s wrong with his attitude?

He’s been unfortunate with injury, but to say he has bad attitude is unjustified he’s just trying to work for the team.

I agree with hailstones . Keita did have issues back at Leipzig and ed002 did warn us about him . Klopp is not one to wait too long .

I really want Kieta to work out for us and I really hope that this new injury is just a niggle and doesn't actually keep him out. If he was a UTD player in the same situation we would be ridiculing them for what a waste of money. At the moment it is showing to be a big loss of 50 million plus. Hopefully he can show soon enough that this isn't the case.

{Ed002's Note - He has learned enough English to be allowed to play now.}

This fan base has had such positive energy this year, players aren’t being slated for Minimal stuff, I don’t understand why Naby is being targeted!

He had a good game against Genk, arsenal wasn’t great but again he is building up fitness around a team that has never played before, then got injured!

I agree Southern. It’s too early to be hammering him the lad has real quality but for whatever reason it’s not working out for him right now. I bet he doesn’t even feel part of the team yet because of the injuries and language issues.
Give him time he was head and shoulders the best player in Germany a few years back let’s help the lad get there for us.

Haven't seen anything to suggest he is good enough, he was praised for his performance against Genk but I thought he showed a lack of desire to track bacj, don't think klopp will wait around on him to come good and we may be better recouping some of our losses on him this summer.

i don't think he played well against Genk or last night the watching of the man in the box has he ran to inside the 6 yard box was very poor. But i don't think the midfield last night was balanced at all I only think 1 of Ox Nabby or Lallana but last night had all 3.

I am not having a go at all at naby, I still want him too succeed but you have too have desire hunger and belief in what your doing, the German league is weaker than ours but he looked awesome for Leipzig and everyone was salivating at the prospect of him playing in our midfield trying too continue what he was doing in Germany, but he looks like he is in 2nd gear with 3 others too go up, I hope he establishes himself but I am very dubious at the pattern of his career so far with us. I would much rather see curtis Jones in there .

Your not having a go? Read your first post it's way OTT and really hope by the end of the season Keita proves what a good player he is. What do you know about his attitude?

{Ed002's Note - Keita has shown serious attitude issues in the past. He took far longer than necessary to learn the language and that gave the club an issue they had to try and cope wth. There are multiple problems that he has caused. It was a mistake buying him and paying well over the odd in transfer and other fees. There were issues of vast embarrassment that would be seen as totally unacceptable. Try not to bleat about posters who clearly have a better understanding than you do about the subject.}

I wouldn’t give up on him. Mane supposedly had a bad attitude. now he has one of the best on and off the pitch.
Keita has shown in parts how good he can be, and has never looked 100% fit.

Appreciate we don’t want another Lallana or Sturridge, but it seems like just niggles repeatedly which he should be able to overcome.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Mane who has never caused 10% of the issues Nobby has caused.}

Markp08 I have too call it like it is mate and he has flattered too deceive, I liked the player we were buying, but from what i have learnt on the pitch and off he is not wat I expected, I want all our players too come good an always have an hope he seriously proves me wrong but the vibes I am getting aren't great, he has too pull his finger out simple as that .

14.) 31 Oct 2019
31 Oct 2019 20:07:59
ok Hail, but how can he pull his finger out when he is injured? He has only been here just over a season and I still expect him to come good. Many players in the team have had their ups and downs, inc Hendo, Gini, Fabs I think its still too early to make up your mind on Keita.

If he causes problems going forward and by the end of the next season if he is not a regular.

I love the type of player that was at Leipzig, playing on the edge, committing people, looking dangerous, whilst also great defensively. Yes injuries but the others aren't injured as much as him an I don't want another sick note, we want lads who are chomping at the bit to win games on the pitch, I suppose I am officially challenging his desire all round off the pitch and on .

Hang on a minute was it not just 10 days ago when Naby Keita and changed the game vs Utd to the point of many in the fan base (esp. on SM) slating Klopp for not starting him early? Was it not a week ago that he had a solid perf. vs Genk and again, many wanted him to start vs Spurs? Now that he has a poor game (of which he was not the only one who played poorly), he should now be trashed and binned?

Seriously, some people need to make up your minds now, for real. You don't get to pick and choose when a player is good and should be kept and as soon as things go bad, he is crap and needs to go. Either we accept the player regardless of his flaws cos we believe he can do well for us overall OR we accept that he is crap regardless of his qualities and then we bin him and move on. It definitely cannot be both, IMO.

To be fare to him when he was fit and had a string of games under his belt he showed his worth. Bad attitude and trouble is another matter to judge him on. If we really feel that side to him doesn't warrant him being there i agree on cutting our losses. Talent-wise the kid has something in him.

Fabinho's inspector gadget legs 😂 can't think of a more perfect description! Im so glad we got him when we did. I feel Man City would have been sniffing around him as a Fernandinho replacement if we hadn't.

Just my opinion but history has shown us that players we initially slate can come good. Hendo and Lucas are 2 that immediately spring to mind. I couldn’t stand them at first. I guess the main difference is attitude as those 2 always tried and remained professional. I’ll continue to back him but only if he sorts out his attitude issues . My guess is he’ll get 1 more season at best and if the issues remain he’ll be sold. Klopp doesn’t seem to stand for it, remember sakho.

Spot on, OKD. After all, it is the same Keita that was killing it at RBL for two seasons. He was unplayable and even Bayern wanted him. Are they mugs too? The boy has got ability if not, he would not be here.
