Ed001

Wondered if you could please give your thoughts on the fixture pile up we now have on our hands. December is looking impossible now with the Club World Cup, Carabou and league games. What should we or do you think the club will priorities? We obviously can't go strong in the Carabou if we want to win the CWC?

{Ed001's Note - it is a real mess, but until the fixtures are set, there is no way of deciding how to approach each game. The Club World Cup is something the club do not even want to take part in, so that has to be bottom of the list. It should be used as a chance for the players to get some winter sun and r&r.}

So you think we will more than likely send a very week squad out to the CWC in December mate?

{Ed001's Note - no, I think we will take pretty much everyone out there as the Aspire facilities are possibly the best in the world medically. I just expect the team to be heavily rotated.}

ed001 I think it will be a great experience for the young players in the squad. And as the last 2 cup games have shown us ed the Ox is still nowhere near at full fitness even with 3 great strikes, Hoping he gets another 90 mins next week against Genk and after the next international break he gets more play time in the league and he plays over there for a full 90mins in one of the games, Then hopefully by January he might be nearly up to full steam. Then we might have him fully at it for the second half of the season. Because as the last 2 starts have shown us don't think he is ready for 90mins against the top side in the prem yet.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed because he can make a huge difference in tight games.}

====================================

I don't know why you keep saying that, with the greatest respect I know for a fact that its not true, I know from someone who I have every reason to fully trust the information who told me when Klopp was asked about the CWC, the reply (please don't quote me as I don't remember the exact words) but something to the effect: "Its a world cup, champions of the world sounds nice, we want to go there and win, the only English club that won it is Manchester United and the fans would like us to do the same"
Now its no secret this morning the club will sacrifice the Carabao cup if need be (don't think will happen), I wold imagine the boys that did great yesterday will play the next round, probably replace Milner with another youngster. Klopp real anger is with the premier league congested fixtures in December and over the Chrismas period and no one can blame him.

{Ed001's Note - whatever you want to tell yourself. I am sure you know best, but you are wrong and with the greatest respect, your quote is bollox. A complete nothing quote - it is called being diplomatic. The club do not want to take part, in fact the English and Spanish clubs are in the midst of a fight with FIFA over the expansion and considering pulling out of any involvement in the new format.}

he does ed001 he gives us something different in there as well and before his injury them 2 home games against City he destroyed them they could do deal with his pace through the middle of the park. But after the city game I think up till we play wolves and Leicester I think its only Everton in there that are really hard fixtures I know none are to be taken easy but there is a lot of minutes for Ox in them games to get his full sharpness back.

Ed 001 couple of things please mate if you don't mind.
With this huge fixture pile up do you think it could force us into the transfer market in Jan even be it the loan market or do you believe we have enough in the squad. Not just to turn up but to compete (ie Villa will prob go full strength etc)?
Also any idea what the financial rewards are for the club world cup. I know you don't like talking money so not asking for a figure but do you believe that playing in it could give us a reward financially going forward or is it just a waste of time?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt our plans will be based on such a short term outlook, if they are, we are in real trouble as a club.

As for financial rewards, it is nothing compared to the Prem or Champions League and that is the issue.}

Cheers Ed, might be a good thing then if the facilities are good, we could well win it then, although clearly not priority I have it higher than the Carabou don’t you?

{Ed001's Note - personally I just want to win everything. I am old school and go along with the Shankly mantra of the next game is the most important.}

Ed01 reply restored some confidence, that we can go to these class facilities and hopefully play a lot of the younger players while the first team boys don't have to play so much we burn out.

I wasn't too bothered about the CC but since beating Arsenal, kinda want to do well now. They boys who played although had some poor defending really did well going forward.

I'm just hoping we can get through this period and do well and crack on to the second half of the league from a good position :)

Man U did it a few years back, they went to the World club cup and mainly rested. They came back refreshed. We should be able to rotate so most players only play one game. I think/ hope it could work in our favour.

{Ed002's Note - Benefits are for the sponsors and others - not for Liverpool.}

CWC could be good for the club in regards of expanding the fan base try think of the positives.

Personally I am ok with Pep Linjders staying back and putting out our youth players against Villa while Klopp and the senior players are in Qatar. The Carabao cup game against Villa will be a real test of grit and quality for the youngsters and gives them an opportunity to stake a claim for a first team squad role in the future.

Firstly, the fact the EFL Cup still has a two-legged semi-final is ridiculous. I do want to win the CWC but agree the lineup will probably be heavily rotated. Think we should be able to make 8 or 9 changes to the outfield 10 and still win it. Dunno if Matip will be back by then but Shaqiri will be and will need minutes, and some of the youngsters showed last night that they can handle big games.
