I am not sure that is completely accurate. The article I read on the Guardian said that he is contracted until 2022, and that he is the type of person that is "all or nothing". That is he puts all his energy into something or doesn't do it at all. He says "when I decide that I cannot do it any longer then I will take a break for a year. ” So, I read that as not giving a definite date, just that he plans to have a break whenever he leaves Liverpool. It may be 2022, but there I am not sure there is anything in the article that is an announcement of leaving Liverpool at a particular date.

But like you say, maybe jumping the gun, and if he gets to 2022 and leaves, 7 years is not bad in this day and age! He is successfully bringing Liverpool success and bringing supporters hope again.

I think it’s far too early to say given its 3 years away as a lot can happen then.

For me Julian Nagelsmann has to be on the list. Possibly Pep Lijnders if the club think he’s ready.

{Ed047's Note - I think Brendan will be ready to come back home by then as Nagelsmann will be at Arsenal after Emery’s jogged off. 🤷‍♂️😉

Three years as way too long away to worry about things. Let’s focus on beating Burnley shall we and let FSG sort out the future. Carpe diem.

stevie will be ready by 2022.lol but yeah don't draw a conclusion between two points the article wrote about separately. Klopp will take a break, and his current contract expires in 2022. maybe he determines he has more energy to go further than 2022 maybe not. In any case, I hope he hauls in a truck load of trophies on the way!

OP, you're overthinking this, man. Klopp has THREE seasons left on his deal and will see them all through with no fears of him leaving or being sacked. Sit back, chill and enjoy cos we are witnessing greatness right before our very eyes. 2022 will take care of its elf.

3 years is so long in todays football world anything can happen. I think though if he gets us the league in that period he would likely feel he's succeeded and could leave a legend. If we were to amazingly be in a position of dominance at that point and winning multiple honours he would surely not walk away from a club in peak.

Can't be making calls 3 years in advance as much will happen in that period. 3 years ago we were starting the season not even playing in the Europa league.
