Origi was top not yesterday. Really got stuck in and on the scoresheet too.

Re our defence, we had our moments but some on here suggesting was poor etc, bloody hell, there just is no pleasing some. Instead of just saying we were poor defensively rather give examples of where we were poor.

We scored 4 and conceded 1. Trent is the cross master and what a freekick to almost get a goal. Salah is still in 1st gear, VVD, best CB in the world hands down.

Would have been great if we could have got another 4 in the second half but was not to be. Norwich stepped it up in the second half.

Overall we were pretty damn good and only our 1st game of the season. We have set the tone now for City and pressure will be on. Westham might cause an upset today, let's see.

{Ed025's Note - i thought liverpool done well max, it was a bit rusty but thats only to be expected, but i have to disagree on origi mate, he was embarrassing at times and looked like the clumsy oaf he is im afraid..

Maxlfc - 4-1 is certainly a good result I agree. Being a bit rusty is a bit of an understatement though. We shipped 15 shots against us last night which is an awful lot at home (even away for that matter) .

Certainly work to be done.

Mixed bag for Origi for me. At times direct, pacey and a real threat but then others clumsy and awkward. There was a period in the second half he looked like he was trying to play pin the tail on the donkey whilst taking a liking for the artificial grass just off the pitch.

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note -origi is bambi on ice greggers..

A tad unfair that ed025. Origi caused them problems, played ok I thought.

Have to agree on the defence, gave up far too much room and far too many chances.

{Ed025's Note - he caused problems mark because even he did not know what he was doing mate..stood out like a pork chop at a bar mitzvah..

Christ Ed025 you certainly have it in for Divock mate. Give the guy a chance? Winner in the CL final, still relatively young. Goal and assist last night worked hard and gelled with Bobby and co. He must have your nudes mate or something as you skate him every game. No disrespect but he is better than Senk Tosup and Calvert-Lewin put together and will out score them both this season imo.

{Ed025's Note - hes not a liverpool type player virgil, he looked like boris johnson in a football kit yesterday he was clumsy and it was all hit and hope, i just wish that for once in a while someone would tell the truth..

10 Aug 2019 09:10:18
Bambi on ice with a Champions League winners medal in his pocket.

{Ed025's Note - he certainly has flash...so has djimi traore...very lucky guys who were in the right place at the right time mate..

Joint top scorer in the league Ed025 ;)

{Ed025's Note - absolutely lamborini...but form is temporary...if your crap your crap forever mate.. :)

7.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 09:27:04
origi was alright. He can do a job for us, but his condiyioning is definitely fit for a bench role. he faded around 60min mark, could have gone off then.

{Ed025's Note - i thought he faded after 60 seconds faith..

8.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 09:33:15
Ed are you saying he is the sequel to Djimi Traore?

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - not as good as djimi greggers..

love ed025 doesn't shy away from stating his opinion, although any man that thinks Pickford is a decent keeper i take with a pinch of salt. haha only messing Ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to agree with you toe knee, im not a pickford fan at all mate, i dont care if they play for everton, liverpool or accrington stanley i will always give my truthful opinion...even if it upsets the odd snowflake.. :)

10.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 09:52:59
Origi is the scourge of Everton, no wonder ed25 doesn't like him! Thought he was decent yesterday, but he can't play like mane and we shouldn't expect him to. A goal and an assist every time he plays will do for me.

{Ed025's Note - your right rugby divock cant play like mane...because sadio is a footballer..

11.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 09:54:51
As long as he keeps scoring.

12.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 09:56:59
As long as he keeps putting the ball in the net he can be as crap as he wants.

{Ed001's Note - Origi was excellent. Anyone saying otherwise is clueless. It is embarrassing reading some of the comments after he tore them a new one all game up against an excellent young right back who was utterly unable to cope with him. The only issue with him was he switched off defensively at times which allowed them in behind him. Going forward he caused havoc. I don't know what more people expect.}

13.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 10:00:39
Origi looks like a fish out of water at times. He is a big lad but just looks like he is a bit afraid to put himself about. It is a confidence thing I believe. Once he believes he could become a monster but for now the substitute role suits him perfectly. Let's face it mane is a tough act to follow but a goal and an assist ain't bad for the young fella. Be interesting to see his stats at the end of the season. Think he could surprise a few.

{Ed025's Note - he has surprised me already mike...someone who should be stacking shelves in tesco is actually playing for liverpool.. :)

14.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 10:11:10
same ed001. Deputised for Mane excellently and gave me assurances that he's going to be more than adequate this coming season in looking after that left side if anything happens to Mane.

15.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 10:30:17
Ouch ed25. He really does get you going doesn't he. Nothing to suggest tescos shelf fillers can't play football. Once upon a time that's what they did, work then get a couple of quid to play on a Saturday afternoon. How times have changed.

{Ed025's Note - they can buy a tesco every week now mike..

Ed001 can you have a word with Ed025 please mate regarding Origi. It’s good banter and all that but he clearly has been the bottle to much.

{Ed001's Note - he just doesn't look past his awkwardness, but that does not make him clumsy or lacking in skill. Some people just look awkward when they do things. Before some of the clubs out here merged, I had a friend who ran one of the youth academies. He was from Belgian and came up coaching at Belgium clubs, worked with the national team for a bit as well. He loved Origi, said he will never look elegant but has a fantastic touch and loves to control the ball in a place where it looks to be too far from his body purely to tempt in a defender so he can take it past him. Also loves his attitude.

You watch him in the game last night and he did that time and time again, puts the ball in a place where the defender thinks he can nick it, then whips it away and is gone. That was how he got the space to cross. Sometimes you have to look closely to realise what is actually happening. It was the same with Crouch, everyone thought he was crap until they actually watched him. That midfielder that went from Stoke to Sevilla, whose name escapes me right now, long limbs, looked awkward, but was actually excellent. As opposed to someone like Danny Welbeck or Djimi Traore, who are as awkward as they look and clumsy which caused their injuries.}

Origin touch and close control is actually decent, he’s trojg quick and clearly can finish. Good in the air too. He’s not as good as mane but how many left wingers are?! He scored and made a goal. doesn’t sound like a donkey ed!

Ed01, I have stopped caring what Ed25 thinks or has to say about our Divvy. It is becoming quite tedious and sad the way he just get triggered anytime the boy's name comes up in a discussion. It is becoming cringeworthy to the point of borderline trolling and obsession. As for the Bambi on ice nonsense, does a Bambi on ice, take the chances with the kind of brilliance and aplomb, Origi took his vs Barcelona and Spurs? Like I said, it is becoming boring and pointless listening to Ed25's rants about Origi.

I love Divvy cos he is just a joy to watch a guy who is not as talented as some of his team mates in attack (talented nonetheless) give his all every time he plays. People seem to want to measure him in comparison to the front 3 which is a dishonest argument to make cos clearly, they are better than him. For me, the guy is a finisher, end of. He gets the ball in the box, he scores. Also, out wide he may not be The Sadio Man but again, who is? He was great yesterday overall and took his goal very well. Can he improve on his rough edges? Yes but he is a very good player and a brilliant guy to have around the squad.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair a lot of it is just him winding people up. That is why he takes it to absurd levels.}

21.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 11:58:02
Norwich had 12 shots of which only 4 were on target. If we scored all our chances and they scored theirs it would have ended 8-3 so i really can't understand what you're on about KBL. we were nowhere near this good at the start of last season.

22.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 12:02:01
Always somebody in the Liverpool team which will get the bamby on ice treatment.

Origi played part in our first goal, and scored another. He did what was required of him. Worked for the team. That is what we require from a player filling in for Mane.

Really mind boggling the treatment Origi gets when he helped us to win the match.

If that is the attacking return we will get from Origi filling in for Mane, then I am all for him being backup. Bamby on ice my behind.

Steven Nzonzi underrated but was as good and Fabinho in my opion.

24.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 12:14:39
Ed001 you are thinking of Steven Nzonzi I think. Great midfielder. Awkward looking, like Fabinho. But similar qualities.

{Ed001's Note - exactly him mate, thank you. I just couldn't remember his name at all until you said it!}

25.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 12:42:07
I thought about the crouch comparison ed they seem in the same mould for the look of playing Sakho used to look uncomfortable on the ball but he was far from it

See plenty of fish biting today ed25 🤣.

10 Aug 2019 12:08:06
25, your club just spent £40m on Iwobi. You can't say anything about any of Liverpool's forwards, pretty much ever.

If Origi's only fit to stack shelves at Tesco, then Iwobi is only fit to BE the shelf. 8 hours a day standing there while Origi stacks Coco Pops on him.

{Ed025's Note - i like that SR..

30.) 10 Aug 2019
10 Aug 2019 18:00:50
Ed25 does 2 things very well, for one he gives a very balanced view of the game and an honest opinion of players and situations (when he has his sensible hat on) . The second is his ability to dangle a hook and go on the wind up, as a general rule I hate it when people say “if you’re not from (insert place name) you won’t get it”, but perhaps you need a detailed scouse knowledge to decipher between the 2?

31.) 11 Aug 2019
11 Aug 2019 07:58:12
lfc hopeful - no, people just need to stop being so precious and they will get on fine with 25 lol.

{Ed001's Note - Ed025 may not have a clue about football, but he is a genuinely nice guy and we are lucky to have him involved on the sites. He can't help it if his glasses are blue tinted and he is so old he can barely see the pitch through his cataracts anyway. When he talks about what he did during the war, he is referring to the Wars of the Roses and we should remember that and show respect for the elderly. This is a man who can remember the day Methuselah was born well as it was the same day as his retirement....}

Brilliant ed1! 25 - I've been all day to come on here and applaud Origi for scoring more goals than aaaaaaalllll of Everton combined! Peace ✌✌✌.

{Ed001's Note - it's all true. When the earth was created Ed025 was busy picking the lint out of his belly button and the pile he left on the table inspired god to make sheep.}
