Ed001, so Wilson goes on loan for the season and I know you weren’t a huge admirer but do you not agree that it leaves a little light in the front three? According to the website we have 5 forwards, 1 of which is Brewster. Obviously that bodes well for his game time and I also appreciate Ox/ Lallana can play there but I just feel one or two injuries and we are up s### creek. Hopefully the club has an ace up their sleeve or we end up being lucky with injuries!

{Ed001's Note - 5 forwards is plenty.}

Mane want in the squad Sunday, neither was Brewster. Sturridge has left and still Wilson couldn't get a look in. Good move for the kid.

I’m with you WYred. An injury and we are well short. This TF window has just petered out mate unfortunately but we have I believe in the squad we’ve got and pray for no injuries.

City with an injury to Ageuro or Sterling. Same difference Virgil.

Origi is decent cover for Firmino through the centre but he struggles out wide with our link up play. If city lost Aguero or Sterling they have Sane, Mahrez, Silva, Jesus in reserve. We have An untested kid in Brewster.

{Ed001's Note - Sane and Jesus were untested kids when they arrived at City.}

Only difference is Max City would have Mahrez, Jesus, etc to come in. Anyhow I’m not taking this thread any further. It is what it is and we have a squad of players to go with. Let’s see where it takes us.

Ed001 that is very true. However this season they are seasoned settled first teamers. Don’t get me wrong I really want Brewster to do well but he’s more through the middle type of player also.

{Ed001's Note - then we can change formation if we need to.}

Spot on, Ed. Comparing us to City is the dumbest argument to make and has always been a false comparison. When Sterling and Sane were signed 4 and 3 seasons ago respectively (both as teenagers), they were coming in to replace players who were over the hill. They were not there for cover or depth cos they started right away. Gab Jesus was brought in at age 20 to take Aguero's place cos he fit the way Pep wants to play. It is he who is yet to take Aguero's place cos he is simply not as good a goalscorer as he is. He was not signed for depth either.

Also, Bernardo Silva (according to Ed01) was signed to take Sterling's place over time as Pep was not happy with him. Sterling upped his game and since Silva is that good, Pep has managed to play both of them from the start. This is the mistake that many on here make when they compare us to City. The dynamics with them are diff. from ours when it comes to things like this BUT feel free to make the same false arguments just make it sound like we should be doing what City have been doing WAY before even Klopp got here.

I know what you mean with Sane and Jesus but both were full internationals when City signed them Ed1. Much further along in their development than Brewster,
I’m all for giving Brewster, Larouci, Lewis, Hoever, Elliot game time. They’ve got a much better chance of success than coming into a team losing. Why spend millions on foreign backups when we have juniors coming through?

Comparing us to City is a dumb argument and then you go on to make a long post about City yourself. Makes sense that 👍.

Mane, firmino, Salah, ox, shaw, origi, Brewster is a lot of players for 3 positions.

JK23, clearly you understood nothing in my post. That is a personal problem for you to look into. Here's an idea. How about you read it again or a couple of times, get back to me and then we can discuss when you fully understand the nuance and context in my comments.
