If we are looking for a quality AM why don't we go get that curtis Jones. Looked a good player to me. Creative, keeps the ball in tight situations, always taking up positions to receive a pass and drives his team forward. Could also go get that Brewster too he's a predator in the box.

Havertz or Acosta would be great additions not likely though unfortunately.

Havertz is immense and extremely versatile. But he’s almost definitely Bayern bound and a priority for them. If we don’t dip into the market it may well be worth giving Curtis Jones a chance, particularly if he has a stand out pre season.

Seen Havertz play a few times and that lad has got a finish in him. I would not mind him either, Eamonsf.

I know it won't happen, and i know he stabbed us in the back, but vvd and mane did the same thing to saints, but id be trying to bring coutinio back.
When i first heard this story i was dead set against it, but the more i think about it the more i like the idea.
I think hed have to earn his spot and he might not be recieved well by his team mates. But to make out he's the worst person ever coz he left liverpool the way he did is a bit blinkered. Like i say, we are perfectly happy when players do it in order to come to us.

What you have to ask is - what sort of players do we need to continue progressing? Decent cover at lb. And a creative mid who can cover up front. There aren't that many better than couts, and if he was open to a return then id be looking to pull it off. Especially if we can get a good deal.
Yes, we were brilliant the season he left, but we were brilliant in the autumn too, when he was still here. I don't think it was pipco leaving that made us better, i think it was salah and then vvd coming in.

The way he left has left many of us bitter towards him. But he lost out on lifting the ucl.
I also think there is another MASSIVE reason for bringing him back, and that is to show other stars that the grass is not always greener in spain or italy. It would show our current squad and the rest of the world, that liverpool is the place to be.

I just don't see klopp going for it. Not after he tried so hard to keep him. Could be worth the 2 points needed to win the league though. And that is more important to me as a fan than the egos of a few players.

I honestly couldn’t care less how coutinho left, I’m long over it. I just don’t think he’s half as good as what he’d cost. For that kind of money, I’d want a alisson or Van dijk. One of the best in the world at what they do.

Curtis Jones has quick feet, likes to take player on and looks to play "killer passes". But does he work hard enough off the ball - particularly when he loses it?

Coutinho was massively inconsistent for us up until the last year or so, he's since gone to Barcelona and gone back to being inconsistent. If he hadn't played for Liverpool nobody would want him.

{Ed025's Note - put it this way thunderbird...he would not get in the everton side mate..

I think we are a much stronger squad with coutinio. Made the midfield of the copa america, was probably brazils best player in the wc. He's inconsistent in the fact that he doesn't win every game for his team but he wins enough to warrant him being in our squad.

But as people have alluded to again and again - we have grown as a team, we would no longer need him to win every game for us. We have players like mane, salah, firmino and origi who would all benefit massively from having someone with couts' passing ability.

No offence ed025, Everton are far from my least favourite team but couts is a better player than siggurdson by Miles.

Thunderbird, Coutinho was inconsistent throughout his time with us, especially in the last year when we tried to move him deeper. He just wasn’t up to it and ruined the team dynamic.

His best position was wide left in the front 3 but he’s nowhere near as good as Mane in that position so if we signed him now it would be for back up/ rotation.
That’s a lot of money to pay for a player that ultimately made us a worse team and who we really have no place for.

He rarely played midfield though. We all remember him cutting in on his right foot and curling it into the far corner, from the lw position. And i agree that mane is better there. I think with fabhino being a successful holding mid, it would give an attacking mid more freedom.

I think we have a really good chance at winning the league this coming season. And i think we'd have a better chance if couts came back. I don't think it'll happen, jurgen doesn't strike me as the type to call on old players. Especially ones who left him in the lurch. But if we could get him for around 80mil then it'd be good business. he's the kind of player whos vision and passing will keep him near the top of the game till he's 34/ 35.

I said it when he left and i still think im right, that Barcelona isn't the right team for coutinio. He never struck me as a guy with a massive ego, which i think you need to be successful at barca. He didn't have the bottle to request his transfer face to face apparently and put it in by email (dunno how much truth there is in that)

I know he was snidey when he forced his move. That put me off the idea of bringing him back, when all this talk started, but i don't blame him really. At the time we were a team fighting for 4th spot, he was one of the best AMs in the game and he was being offered a massive payday and the chance to play for the overrated but still brilliant Barcelona.

If he had never played for us i think many would like the idea of him joining. Many seem to want dembele and coutinio is much better than the frenchman. I think he hurt us fans by leaving and we all know its not going to happen (why write an essay on it then robbie? ) so its easier to say "made your bed" and "hes not all that" when clearly he is a very good player (was considered our only truly world class player until salah joined)

The question is - would he make us a better team? There is room for debate here. I love our current crop and mf is an area we are very strong in. The boys we have have been brilliant, proper grafters. But i think there's room for a creative mid. The one thing we lack is goals from midfield. Coutinio gives you that, there is no doubt. It also makes us less robust though and the way we boss midfield may disappear if we bought in a smaller, attacking mid.

Probably just starved of a big signing.

{Ed001's Note - I couldn't care less how he left, the point is most of us were moaning about how many times he cut in and shot into the stands when there were better options over and over again. He was a liability and we improved massively once he went. He is not good enough.}

Ed025, time for your cocoa old chap.
I know you’re getting forgetful at your time of life but it’s 2019 not 1969 lol.

{Ed025's Note - he is and always has been overrated juicer, a luxury player who would produce a few cameo,s of brilliance every now and then, not that you reds fans would ever say that of course, every one who plays for liverpool is world class and brilliant according to your lot and their crap smells of roses.. :)

13.) 16 Jul 2019

Wouldn't get into Everton side? Holy hell who did you guys sign this summer?

{Ed025's Note - we have not finished yet amerigo but i would not want a mars bar like couts, he got found out at barca for exactly what he is, a lazy little runt who strolls around the pitch and is not and has never been a team player mate..

I respect your opinion ed01. But until the dodgy back issues i don't remember any fans being fed up with him. I remember hoping he wouldn't leave.

{Ed001's Note - if you say so but there were plenty of moans, I had to read them, you obviously only saw what you wanted to see.}
