I would love coutinho back, but I am completely convinced there is no way on earth it will happen also would he be the same player? when he left he was at the very peak of his powers, if we got him back an playing like he was all I am saying is wow what a bonus for the team .

{Ed025's Note - why would you want a dirty traitor back hailstones?..

He's just not good enough for how expensive he'd be (not that I think any of the parties involved are pushing for a reunion) . Fekir would be half the price.

I think its just a lazy rumour going around because of how his season went. I imagine if he does leave it'll be as part of a deal for Neymar.

I hear u ed maybe you are right, an if he came back there is no guarantee he would be the player he was, but as he was leaving I think he was at his peak an he just complimented the team immensely but I suppose when he went assed he was allowed too play with no stress, I was one of the most vocal on him being a rat with us an traitor but on reflection of the whole thing when Barcelona come flashing there skirt up at you an him being south american, the cold truth is it's the pinnacle for most, look at Thomas gravesen for christ's sake haha . My opinion ed mate is we are weaker in specific areas than city who are the bench mark and I think coutinho could help, or fekir or fernandes . Since we have been linked with coutinho today I would have him back if he admitted he made a mistake an a public apology outside anfield was given .

{Ed025's Note - hes a good player hailstones but i dont know where he would fit in, your midfield is all about work rate and tracking back which is not really his forte..

Coutinho got his 'dream move' and so far it has blown up in his face.

Why anyone would want him back when we are better off without him is beyond me.

I wouldn't have him anywhere near the club again. Scored some great goals but far from a great player. He's gone we've grown and improved without him.

The people who want Cou back seem to either have short memories or simply mis-remember his timer here. Cou was a very good player for us. He really improved under us and for that, Klopp (who really does not play a typical no. 10 in his system fundamentally) was ready to accommodate him in his midfield and attack with his fab 4.

Was he a great player? Heck No. Scored some good worldies for sure BUT overall, he was very inconsistent for us throughout his time here. Also, those who want him back have very short memories. I remember vividly how Ed02 described in detail how Cou and his agent (w/ his buddy Neymar) orchestrated this whole thing a season before he actually left. He knew everything he was doing at the time and put the club in a difficult position on purpose, to get his move. I will never forget those facts.

I don't care if a player leaves us as players better players than Cou have left us before. It is the way he did it that is gauling and disappointing. People may want him back and that is their opinion BUT they should not try to reshape, rewrite history and omit stuff, just to suit their ends. Just my opinion.

Yeah ed mate but that work rate only gets you so far and got us extremely far last season but admittedly there were games last season were something different in an attacking sense from midfield was missing, I am not convinced ox, lallana or even keita have the fitness too play that role without going through injury . Keita has really surprised me I thought he would be confident, strong minded, an his football arrogance would see him flourish for us, also he cudnt be assed learning the language an looks timid an bit of a rabbit in headlights, it's very early days an I don't believe in righting off players sometimes it takes time . Ox could be the difference but do t know how he is coming back from that .

{Ed025's Note - i think ox has a better chance than keita hailstones, he has been a bitter disappointment for me and im not keen on his attitude mate..

I really don't understand why anyone would want coutinho back even on a free I would say no damaging for the locker room moral selfish player who's whole playing style is run with it get to the sweet spot on the edge of the box and shoot even if he has better options Available we already have one self centred arse on the team we don't want another.

Sorry Hailstones n Ed25 but I disagree. It is not make or break time for Keita just cos I or anyone else thinks so. Keita might have a few screws loose but he is a very talented footballer. I watched him a tonne at RBL and he was brilliant on the pitch for them.

Last season, He showed more than glimpses of his talent in several games while at the same time, bedding into the Klopp system which by empirical evidence, is not an easy one to get used to overnight. The injuries did not help him and just as he was coming into form, he got injured at the Nou Camp which ended his season at the wrong time. Does he have to do more? Every LFC player has to if we want to have any chance at the PL and/ or CL but to say it is make or break time for Naby or "he has been a disappointment" (whatever that means) after just one season, is just baseless, IMO.

This is the same nonsense being said about Divock when fans were ready to run him outta town cos he was not Harry Kane fast enuff for them or Fab cos he was not Xabi Alonso fast enuff for them. Let players develop over time and then, we can judge them fairly. Just my opinion.

Yeh Ed you wouldn't see the blues buying back traitors,

{Ed025's Note - that would depend on how they left tyler, he engineered a move by claiming a bad back and not playing..so yes he is a traitor..

It has been disappointing for Keita but he is on a long term contract and hugely talented. No doubt he will make a greater contribution this season. As for Coutinho, we got great value for him. I will always remember that goal against City. He's not coming back though and I personally feel he will stay at Barcelona and their fans/ the media will eventually get off his back.

I really don’t get why anyone would want Coutinho back. Our performance levels and results have increased dramatically since that little weasel left.
He doesn’t deserve a second chance at Liverpool but more importantly he’s not good enough to be given one.

The ultimate test is if Coutinho adds anything to the team if he is brought back. And my opinion is that he doesn't. Not only does he no longer fit in, because the front 3 have cemented their place, but he he was entirely ineffective playing in midfield for Brazil at the Copa America. I remember when he was with us that many of us called him a "one-trick pony" and that has been been pretty much borne out at Barcelona. And I think bringing him back would be highly disruptive in the dressing room, because i don't see the seniors being too receptive to his return.

When coutinio played for us we loved him. None of us wanted him going to barca. He was a massive player for us. Our best player at one point. But when the stuff about his back came out i remember feeling betrayed.

We got better, but i dunno if it was because he left or because salah and the vvd came in that year.

But like Henry said. Alisson, fabhino and van djike wouldn't have happened if not for the coutinio sale. So whether we were getting better anyway or losing couts made us better, we may not have had 3 of our most important players.

And at the end of the day, coutinio left to win the champions league! Since then we have been in both finals! If he wants to come back then tough. You made your choice pipco, thank god you did. Live with it.

I think he'll come good at Barcelona anyway. He made the team of the tournament at the copa America. He is a good player, but id rather have Becker fabhino and van djike.

Honestly don't understand why this is always being brought up. Forget if he's a traitor or whatever, there's next to no loyalty in football outside of the fans anyway. The main point is he wouldn't complement the team at all, he would unbalance it. He wouldn't dislodge Mane on the left and he would leave us wide open if played in the middle 3. He just doesn't fit and tactically we've moved on as a team.

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter how many times you say it, even though you are absolutely spot on, no one who wants him is listening to sense.}

I don’t agree with that point of view at all.
It depends on the opposition and game situation, and there’s a host of formations that could accommodate Coutinho.
Liverpool typically enjoy 70% + possession against many Premier League sides, so I don’t see how he would leave us wide open?

On the contrary, if there’s one thing that City have demonstrated this past two seasons is that ball retention, allied to a work ethic and creativity, does bring success and the number of goal-scoring chances that the front three would increase.
It’s clear that an AM is on Klopp’s team’s mind?
