Apparently nabys been injured on international duty, does anybody know anymore?

{Ed002's Note - You mean the bit part player with questionable Work Permit status with a bruise on his shin?}

Doubt he was ever truly fit and rushed back, hopefully he recovers for a full preseason and proves he’s more than a bit part player!

{Ed002's Note - And gets his Work Permit sorted out.}

26 Jun 2019 19:51:29
How is he able to play without a work permit?

{Ed002's Note - He is not.}

3.) 26 Jun 2019
26 Jun 2019 20:07:58
So the club played him illegally last season then?

{Ed002's Note - You appear to be making stuff up. Just forget it.}

Please correct me if any of this is wrong Ed002.

But I read an article recently that concerned some potential upcoming issues with Keita's work permit, primarily with regards to the number of games he played. Assurances were given over the percentage of first team games he would play and he is well short of that. Liverpool are likely to say that the player was injured for the vast majority of the time he wasn't playing, and this may be enough to convince the authorities. However further issues may arise if he continues to not play next season as the excuse that he is injured will not wash forever unless his injury is 100% genuine.

Like I said. Please correct me if any of this is wrong, I do not profess to be an expert at all.

All the best.

{Ed002's Note - The issue is he only has a T2 permit and needs to pass the English exam.}

Hmmmmmm interesting so if it went against him wat would outcome be, sold, loaned out contract terminated?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has asked for an extension.}

Wasn't making stuff up Ed. Was just trying to figure out how he played if his work permit was questionable as you said. Genuinely didn't know a person had to pass an English exam. For some reason I'd assumed in a multi cultural environment like football that this would not apply. Every day is a school day.

{Ed002's Note - Nobody has said it is “questionable” - certainly not me.}

26 Jun 2019 20:46:12
Seems about right for this country. Lots of people can't speak English yet are allowed to remain, but we'll kick out one that pays a hefty amount of tax.

{Ed002's Note - Rubbish.}

Your reply to the original post "the bit part player with questionable work permit status and a bruise on his shin". Though I do agree with the part that he should be able to speak the lingo. It should be a requirement before a permit is granted.

{Ed002's Note - This is why the rules are as they are.}

It’s a wonder Stevie Gerrard was never made to take an English speaking exam. ????.

Ridiculous too given the amount of down time he has that he couldn't learn the language. My 10 year old speaks French reasonably well from 15 minutes a day on an app on his iPad.

{Ed002's Note - He has had two years - but then again he never learned German properly either.}

11.) 26 Jun 2019
26 Jun 2019 21:23:45
Arrogance and laziness of some footballers is astounding. Had a full year knowing he was going to England to at least be passive in the language. From reading what Perez says about Bale at Madrid he hasn't learned Spanish yet. I personally find that astounding that after 6 years a person wouldn't be fluent.

{Ed002's Note - It is true about Bale as well.}

Thanks for the replies mate.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

It shows a little disrespect to your team mates and fans. Its shows your not that bothered about mixing in for me. When you look how some foreign players go out there way, proves the fans mean something to them. Kompany at city looked a great captain in so many ways. And left them a true legend.

To be fair, it may be that he's really just a bit, erm, thick?

15.) 27 Jun 2019

Also bobby firmino has been here 3 years no english an no sign of any .

16.) 27 Jun 2019

Even a thick guy with two years practise could learn basic English with enough motivation.

17.) 27 Jun 2019
27 Jun 2019 06:26:47
Hailstones iirc bobby understands English very well, it’s just when speaking he has such an powerful accent nobody can understand him.

27 Jun 2019 08:07:07
Thanks for explaining that.

19.) 27 Jun 2019
27 Jun 2019 08:10:48
Bobby’s English speaking isn’t fantastic but then again he got an automatic work permit so it’s not imperative that he has a passable level (which he does) and can’t lose his right to play.

You’d think that alone would put a rocket up Naby’s backside. I had hoped he would grow out of his carefree attitude when getting a shot in the big league but it doesn’t look like it. or he is just plain stupid but even then the club would help him over the line.

{Ed002's Note - What is an "automatic work permit"? He has to meet the same criteria as anyone else.}

20.) 27 Jun 2019
27 Jun 2019 10:22:02
Probably my ignorance but I remember some question over his permit not being granted initially due to new criteria in 2015 around a top-10 FIFA-ranked national playing in 30 per cent of their games in the past two years?

Iirc the confederations cup took him over this level or similar. I assumed that if you fit that criteria you are automatically granted a permit without the additional requirements (I. e language tests), I guess from your reply that I am wrong and they apply to all players?

{Ed002's Note - No, you are not correct at all.}

21.) 27 Jun 2019
27 Jun 2019 11:03:03
It wouldn’t be the first time and most definitely won’t be the last. That’s why I am here to learn.

{Ed002's Note - No problem.}

Love it Becker! ????.

He'll be alright. Will have a massive season. We will see the player we saw flashes of, and he's going to rock.
