Isn't it nice that we are not worried too much about NEEDING signings. The squad is young and strong, need some cover here and there. New faces keep players on their toes and pushing forward, so I hope we make a couple of good signings, but this summer, I'll chill.

I'm just being greedy to be fair.

We don't really need much.

a cb like milenkovic and a cm like ndombele. just so they go to United and spurs respectively haha but they are top top players.

if we didn't sign anyone we would be sound, but we shouldn't sit on our successes.

True, signings to push the players on, cover in case of injury and if quality is available at a good price. take it. Ericsson from spurs 😉🤣 but hay, I'm relaxed, in Klopp we trust.

We're all chilled and watch Klopp go and buy Dybala or someone 😂 I can honestly see a shock coming up lads. It's far too quiet init.

I can see a left back, back up keeper, att mid a must, also a flexible attacker, we can't over rely on front 3 injuries an loss off form can strike at any time.

Whilst we could maybe look for cover up top and some experience (think Ed002 mentioned name who may Ben happy to come for cover) . I think I would much rather someone young who has plenty of energy. We have Origi for a different style. When we need to rest someone a young hungry striker who can run defences ragged and allow our main striker to come on and use their strength which is speed against tired legs. Or when we take one of our main strikers off the youngster stretches them up top. I hate when we sit back and try to see game out. We get jittery. Or used to.

I agree with the OP, there's no position that is crying out to be filled. I remember every man and his dog calling for the Viera position to be filled at Arsenal and they never did. GKs and defence has been our achilles for many seasons but our first choice 4 is pretty great atm.

The one area I would look at is the midfield. We have worldies at the top and the back but name me one Liverpool midfielder who would push for team of the season. You could make an argument for all of our front 3 (I know Firmino wasn't as great as the previous season but he's so important for us) . The back 4 - definately (if Gomez had stayed fit he could have been in the team of the season) . That leaves the midfield. In their own way I like all of them and they are all good players, but are any of them truly great players? Maybe Fabinho for what he provides but imagine a Silva, a de Bruyne or a motivated Pogba in our midfield. Not so much of a complaint but a response to the idea that we don't have areas to improve.

Oh before anyone says anything the GK spot is nailed down ; )

Potclay, there are positions that are crying out for cover/ options as in both fullback positions, GK and a versatile forward who can give the any of the front three a blow.

Potclay, team of the season is irrelevant. They always pick attack heavy teams in those and our midfield is more about defending so that we can play 3 strikers and really attacking wing backs.

Fabinho, Henderson, Milner and Wijnaldum are all top class in my opinion. Fabinho potentially world class. They were the most used midfielders in a team which finished as European Champioms and amassed 97 points. So they can't be that bad.

The only midfield players who were let downs last season were Keita, Chamberlain and Lallana who spent most of the year injured or underperforming. I'd back Ox to come back with a bang and Keita should improve. Lallana for me must go and bring in Fekir or Fernandes to replace him.

Our midfield is very good but as long as Lallana is unreliable it lacks a truly technically gifted option.

We will strengthen i have no doubt. And i think there will be marquee signings. We won loads for winning the ucl, our stock is high. yes we spent heavily last year and i wouldn't expect that level of expenditure. But i bet we sign some top players. Also i don't think we will love any big players.

I imagine we would see an exceedingly happy front three then, RedWolf.

How many other midfield have achieved 97 points on a season and let's chuck in a euro cup.

It can be argued if it was the defence that was pivotal or the striker force.

The midfield was just as important.

This midfield is maybe one creative player away from being perfect imo.

Hi all thanks for the replies.

The original post said crying out to be filled and I agreed that no position was. I wasn't bashing our midfield but was simply trying to point out that top teams would be queing up for any of our front 3 or back five. With the exception of Fabinho I'm not convinced the same would be said of the midfield. Love Hendo, Wini came on a storm this season, Milner is now a legend, I hope Ox will be back to pre Roma form of last season, Shaq and Keita do need to improve but there is positivity there and Lallana.

My point was there is a small room for an improvement to come in, if he was available. If not then so be it, we are not crying out for it.

we are talking about small margins. I am fully aware that we did great but its those small margins we might need to overhaul city and win the league for the first time in 30 years.
