Good morning Eds and Reds!

How pleasing was that Origi goal?! I was actually nervous when Spurs got that freekick on the edge of the box.

So we need a backup keeper and i feel Karius was really good for us until the final last year. I wouldn't mind him coming back so that we have more money to spend in other areas.

Eds is there any chance of this happening?

{Ed025's Note - karius??...really??, before the game last night they showed the highlights of real madrid v liverpool final where he was an absolute joke fsadulla, and that was not a one off either he was a calamity of a keeper and makes migs look like lev yashin mate..

If we played in the future with him in goal the pressure would be huge, and as it would only be the odd game everything would get scrutinised. It’s best for him he moves on to try and get past that evening.

Karius was actually playing well in the half a season prior to the final when he took mignolets spot. The only errors he made were in the biggest game that final though and i think too much hurt and damage those errors caused fans to lose all trust. Best for him and Liverpool to part ways, get 7 or 8 million which is fair. I don't think he will ever make it as a top keeper, he seems to be happier living a celebrity lifestyle than focusing on his game.

{Ed025's Note - a rodeo clown would seem a suitable vocation for him har..

as a backup backup karius could have his stephen donald moment.

Yup Ed025. Karius should become a rodeo clown
Maybe he can perfect the trade with Pickford's guidance.

{Ed025's Note - you wont find me defending pickford any time soon IB, you will need to cast your rod a lot further than that to get me on your line mate.. :)

Ed025 if it looked good on his Instagram and photo shoots I'm sure he'd consider that role.

{Ed025's Note - im sure he would mate..

Ed25, you mean the rodeo clown like Origi?

{Ed025's Note - he is a fine cameo player redwolf, but being able to muster about 40 good seconds of football a season will not make him a great asset to any club mate..

fsadulla We all enjoyed a lot of beers last night but you’ve taken it to extremes mate I think you will regret saying that when you sober up. Karius! God no.

Lol, ed25 that’s brutal. Not sure either Migs or Karius can be compared to Yashin. Collectively I think they make Chris Kirkland look like a worldie.

{Ed025's Note - they are both poor keepers nick, but have made a nice living out of being mediocre mate..

It's not something you find often ed, someone who can actually have that impact from the bench.

amazing impact player.

{Ed025's Note - hes done very well in that role KB, im just a bit wary of players who seem happy to be a bit part player mate..

Karius played fairly well from January to March last year but then it started to go wrong for him. Even before the Champions League final, he seemed to misread the flight of the ball a couple of times against Roma, not reacting to a couple of their goals, and letting one go through his hands and onto the crossbar. I gather he's been a mixed bag, at best, at Besiktas too.

Maybe he's spending too much time taking selfies and its messing up his concentration like David James with his Playstation in the 90s.

If I had the choice between Migs and Karius to come off the bench because Alisson was injured or sent off, I'd pick Karius on the basis that he will occasionally save a shot that's not straight at him, whereas Migs won't, but that says more about Migs than Karius.

Neither is reliable and we need a new second choice goalie, a difficult position to recruit for.

I agree Ed, origi isn't an asset to the club is he.
He didn't score 2 in the semi, without which we wouldn't have won it.
Sell him ASAP.

{Ed025's Note - touche..

Im sentimental now and wouldn't mind migs being back up keeper. I will say, the only games he played last season we lost.

Id like to see a high class guy come in for no2 jack butland maybe. We will be fighting for everything next year, can ypu imagine being 3 games from t he title and alisson gets injured! Yeah, butland.

{Ed001's Note - Butland high class? Do you think so?}
