The Final is almost here.

It's frustrating that there has been such a break since the end of the season, which may work against us. Plus, CL games aside, Spurs weren't having a great run.

Kane should play, which is a concern, and Spurs are a great team. They almost had us in the last game and I expect a really tough game. It genuinely could go either way.

However; one thing that I do think may give us a slight edge is the disappointment of last year. Our team is virtually unchanged, so a great deal of the players starting will have that on their minds.

Its their first final - they could seriously bottle it - especially if we start well.

They’re not going to bottle it.
On the contrary, they must be thinking that their name is on the cup.
It’s going to be a real old Premier League ding-dong unfortunately, which probably suits them more than us.
Extra time quite possibly.

To be fair, they did bottle it against Ajax, until Ajax took a bigger dump.

Spurs COULD bottle it. We could lose, of course. But if we play to our best, its ours.

Redinthewrongway - I agree
The Juicer- They bottled the league against The Foxes, They nearly bottled 4th Spot this year plus have they been in a final with P in charge? This will be Klopp's 4th final for LFC (3 of those European) and I expect these players to finally stand up.

King Carlos, as this is our 4th final under Klopp, and we lost our previous 3 it will strongly suggest we are the team that 'bottle it'. I think it will be a very good game with both teams going for it, I think we will have the advantage and hopefully win it . but regardless we should enjoy it.

King Carlos, how can you 'nearly bottle' it. Surely you do or you don't?

This game is 50 50 its who ever plays best on the day, spurs are very dangerous an should be treated with the upmost respect look wat happened with us in Istanbul, Milan underestimated our ability too come back, but in 2nd final they played occasion properly and beat us, hope we play too our full potential and do us proud but I am still buckling in my safety belt as we don't do things easy!

Spurs form at the end of the season was woeful. They were played off the park by Ajax for 3/ 4 of the two games combined. We played Barcelona off the park for 3/ 4 of our two games. We've been on a great run in the league. Yes they are dangerous but we didn't beat them by 20+ points in the league for no reason. The players had the pressure of the final last year and the bitter taste of defeat I'm sure still burns. Having 3 weeks off might have upset our rythem. But, I think on the night our class will shine and we'll beat them by 2 or 3.

Nobody bottles a final. That is just rubbish. If you make it to the final and you lose then you are a losing finalist which is better than not even being in contention at all. Max Allegri and Diego Simeone made 2 CL finals and lost. Are they bottlers too? We need to stop this kind of pathetic rhetoric. That's how rival fans who wish they were in our position, talk.

As for the game and if Kane plays or not, who cares, really? Spurs rarely beat us to begin with and we slap them around for the most part even when Kane DOES play so what's all the fuss or "concern" if he plays. I mean, you think Spurs care if Bobbie starts or not? They will prepare to the fullest for every scenario possible.

To the same point, I am sure Klopp and the boys are preparing to face the strongest Spurs team possible, with or without Kane. That's how teams prepare. They don't hope that a player does not play. In fact, our boys would want Kane to play, that way they can't come out and say "Oh, had Kane played, blah, blah, blah". I expect Kane to play and I expect our boys to be prepared to handle him. LET'S GO!

Spurs have shown they can play without Kane and Son, but then again they were woeful last few games of the season without Kane. Funny old game.

Agreed RedWolf. Although, I'm sure Spurs would certainly prefer it if Big Virg didn't play!

It'll be a great game, of that I'm sure. I do think we have the edge on paper, but anything can happen in a final.

One thing that amazed me was the difference in potential revenue based on whether you win the CL, or are the runner-up - it's about 3M (based on what I read), I expected it to be significantly larger.

Ultimately, it should all be about prestige and winning that trophy!

Parma, the revenue difference was about the same last year too. But agreed.

They are not as good as us. That is a fact. They finished 24 points behind us losing 13 games to our 1. We really have no one to fear but ourselves.
If we approach the game in the right way and don’t take the win for granted, we will run out comfortable winners.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they should be a lot more worried about us than we are about them.

Parma, I fully agree with you that the prestige is more important BUT you got to say, the money ain't bad either, eh?

Ive got a theory why we have lost a few finals with klopp. don't get me wrong, i love klopp and hope he stays for 20 years.

He is always talking about keeping the boys cool, we have a relaxed atmosphere, if we keep cool and enjoy etc. that's perfect for the journey. But when you get to the destination you need to be fired up. Oh, of course the boys are fired up. Im babbling.
