Brookes at Bournemouth James Madison Leicester. Gibs white wolves. Longstaff Newcastle. These should be targets. Look at city's option in midfield. Brooks can play ten Madison can play left mid the ox can cover right wing. Yes we need a Gk and lb but we need quality in depth now. All British and young. Utd will b after a few we definetly should b trying.

Gibbs-White and Longstaff are still unproven in significantly weaker squads. At that point I'd much rather just play Wilson who can also play centrally while covering the wings. I don't think there's that much between Wilson and Brooks (though they're very different players), Brooks does have a successful year in the PL though. Maddison is clearly the pick of the bunch but Leicester have no reason to sell and would significantly overcharge (look what they're asking for Maguire) .

Personally for me I'd rather we just see if Wilson can make the step up. Barring any surprise bargains on the market e. g. Brandt to Dortmund for £22.1 Million.

I like the first 3 as well. Madison first choice but I don't think we can afford him atm. We did our massive shop last 2 windows and we need to sell first.

I agree on none of the players mentioned, I'm sorry. The first two need to show more than what they have shown in their first real season in the top flight before that can be considered as good enuff to play at the very highest level of domestic and European footie which is where like it or lump it, LFC currently operate. Gibbs-White and Longstaff also need to show us a bit more, IMO.

IMO, the era of LFC signing one season wonders is over. We need young players yes BUT young players who have proven themselves over a more sustained period of time like Brandt, Werner, Fekir etc. who are used to playing high pressure games for club and country cos those are the types of games LFC currently are involved in. Until they prove they can hack it over a longer period of time (rather than just one season, we should look elsewhere, IMO.

Gibbs White is going to the top, if we could offer him the game time he needs I’d take him like a shot. That’s the trouble. We can all want the depth that city have but it comes at a price of players not getting the playing time they want or need. We need a great first 15 or 16 (which we have) and others able to step in when necessary. The city model isn’t good practice for most clubs.

Spot on, Redinthewrongway. In fact, that City model is the utter wrong way to do things. City have been spending 10's of millions of bounds for the past 10 years on players. Where is the majority of that money coming from? It is coming from the VERY deep pockets of an actual State.

Therefore, a guy like Pep can spend 35m on a GK in Claudio Bravo and after a poor season, he just goes on and signs Ederson for another 35m. I'm sorry to say BUT there is NO team in the PL and not even Utd with all their cash, that can do that hence why the system as it is right now is untenable for ALL other PL clubs bar City.

As for those of those of us wanting LFC to do what City is doing, we simply can't based on the above assessment. Therefore, we have to be creative in our approach to scouting the best young AND experienced talent around to be competitive with them.

Home many games do they get each season to continue progression? I’m curious?

These players will go through good and bad spells as part of a learning curve until they reach potential.

Can you really see that with us as a bit part player? We see like of experienced players come off the bench and be nowhere near top form. These kids would be slaughtered and stagnate.

Markp08, why do we need to sell? We've sold to buy for the duration of FSG's tenure, so now they need to add to the squad without diluting it first. Definitely not holding my breath on that one though, they must love fans like you.
