Have your say Reds,
In the midfield, which of the four that are fully fit misses out on the starting XI for the Champions League Final?
A. Milner
B. Fabinho
C. Wijnaldum
D. Henderson.

That's a difficult one mate! If I had to pick I'd say Milner.

2.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 09:32:14
Tought call, but I would say Milner. He's a great one to come off the bench.

Gini is in good form, Fab is a definite and I like marauding Hendo.

If Hendo tires, I'd actually bring on the Ox.

3.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 09:38:29
Very difficult. Fabinho should def start. Gini has been our best midfielder this season so deserves his place.

Hendo if he gets near his end of the season form then he should play but if it is the Hendo from the rest of the season it should be Milner. Be even harder if Ox and Keita were fully fit.

I just trust Milner more so I go with him and let Hendo get 30 mins from the bench.

4.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 09:48:41
Fabinho, wijnaldum and henderson for me.

5.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 10:05:04
I'd start the same team who started against Barcelona at Anfield (especially the midfield and defence) with the exception of Salah coming in for Shaqiri. I wouldn't even bring Firmino back in for Origi, or Gomez in for Matip.

Matip and Origi are in sublime form and don't deserve to be dropped for players coming back from injury and lacking match sharpness. Just my opinion though, because I don't see them in training every day! I'll back whoever Klopp starts with ultimately.

22 May 2019 10:11:14
Gini I’m afraid but someone won’t play
Up the pool.

7.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 10:16:31
That's a big call MK.

The midfield can't be Hendo, Milner, Gini because it doesn't work.

8.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 10:41:24
Tough one, happy whoever is picked to play. If I have to choose to leave one out it would be milner, bring him on to clam us down when we r 2 up.

9.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 10:55:41
Milner and then use his experience from the bench.

10.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 11:01:51
I was going to ask a similar question TheRedKop to the peps here. It is a really tough one in my opinion. But I think Hendo is a definite starter. Not sure who the other two are going to be. I think I am leaning towards what Roro1892 says.

11.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 11:25:05
Wijnaldum for me. He was amazing coming off the bench against Barcelona and we may need the energy and tenacity of the other three in the first half against Tottenham.

12.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 12:35:39
Good post and a tough call to make given the good form of the midfield, personally I would go for Wijnaldum, Fabinho and Henderson. With Milner coming off from the bench as a reliable experienced option as legs tire or if needed tactically. Spurs are a team who will also have large amounts of the ball. We will need the technical ability of Wijnaldum, Henderson's energy and Fabinho's ball winning skills to stifle Spurs very own energy and possession. It will for sure be a tactical battle. I'm not sure both teams will play an open game given what's on the line.
For me it is a one off game that could go either way. I think we have the edge purely as we have the experience of knowing how it feels to lose a final. For sure this should be added source of motivation to the squad.

13.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 12:36:19
That's tough. Fabinho had to start. We always struggle without him and we haven’t lost when he has started. He will be vital to win the midfield battle vs Spurs.
Start Milner, Get Wijnaldum in as a sub, he’ll be angry at Klopp again and ready to go for it. Scores 2 in 2 mins again.

Good headache this is.

14.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 12:43:31
dont over think it. fab, gini, hendo gives us everything we need from our misdfield. Milner will be great off the bench covering lots of different roles and responsibility depending on game situation.

15.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 12:52:37
They will all get to play some part in the final if there all fit so no big deal.

16.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 12:53:23
Aslong as Fabinho starts.

17.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 13:23:06
Gini for me, with hendo and Fabinho. Firmino has to start too, he’s our best striker, and we need our best team. Yes origi did amazing against Barca, but he was quiet against wolves and probably isn’t as fit as bobby, or offer as much l. Good sub to have.

18.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 14:11:30
Milner coming in fresh off the bench feels like it makes a lot of sense to me:
Need to create a goal - bring in Milner
Need to see the game out - bring in Milner
Need someone to take the deciding penalty - you guessed it, Milner!

Although he is like the Energizer Bunny, I think Gini and Hendo can play with a touch more intensity to get at Spurs and wear them down early on.

This all being said, I won't have any complaints whoever starts - don't remember last time I could say that about the midfield in seasons past!

19.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 15:05:26
Great question, and a good problem to have for us. I would sit Millie on the bench- he has not been in as amazing form as the others these last few months and can also come in to cover either of the full back positions if needed. That said, any 3 of these 4 is a good option - bring on Tottenham already.

20.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 15:48:33
Can't believe peoples overreaction with origi showing a slight improvement in his form. Im not one for bashing a player but just because he has scored a couple of important goals hardly means he is in "sublime form". Origi is not a top player, he never will be a top player and for people to be saying that he is the kind of quality we need be it from the bench or to push the current foward players is beyond me.

21.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 16:10:34
It is a big call, but Bobby won't have started a game for about a month by the time we get to the final. Without seeing how his body has recovered in training, I can't advocate starting him in a cup final. Klopp has that luxury though.

I agree that midfield trio doesn't work though mate. that's why i think we should keep Hendo, Fab and Milner. We will need Hendo and Milner's leadership, but I also think Wijnaldum is the best option for impact off the bench. Those first 15 minutes off the bench Barcelona had no answer for him. Plus this is the main club Trophy that has eluded Milner in his career so far so I bet he'll be fired up for it.

22.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 16:19:00
I'd go with bringing Milner on from the bench in the second half.

23.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 18:02:48
Yea you're right we can't see who is doing what and what stage of fitness they are at. If Firmino is undercooked then I agree he shouldn't start. Firmino plays best when fully fit. I also agree with you on Milner I think Klopp trusts him.

Brandt £22m I just can't get my head around that.

24.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 18:29:49
I'm expecting it to Milner that's left out, but he'll almost certainly come off the bench.

As for Bobby, he missed 3 games, is it? If it wasn't for the gap between the last league game and the CL final we wouldn't even be thinking about him being unfit or undercooked. He'll be fit and he'll start. Yeah, he won't have started a game in a month, but everyone around him won't have started a game in 3 weeks, so he shouldn't be behind them in terms of sharpness.

25.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 19:16:50
I disagree, MK. Bobbie if fit and ready to go, PLAYS. Origi has been brilliant this season not just thru his goals and assists and contributions off the bench and starting, but mainly due to his fantastic mentality and work ethic. A true team player.

Having said that, Bobbie is THE brain of this team. The glue to EVERYTHING we do so if he is fit, he MUST play and besides, he is a nightmare for Spurs and has been since he arrived. Just my opinion.

26.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 19:49:38
Fab, Gini, Hendo. Fabinho was a game changer when we beat them at Anfield. The midfield were struggling at the time and Spurs looked the more likely. Same against City in Jan, as the game wore on, they took control of midfield, then on came Fabinho and we wrestled the intiative back, I know we lost in the end but we look more dominant with him in there. Must start I reckon.

27.) 22 May 2019
22 May 2019 20:04:22
Fab, Gini and Henderson. Fab is a physical presence and can control the game, Gini and Henderson can get about them with their energy and running.

28.) 23 May 2019
23 May 2019 00:43:10
Firmino has to start ahead of origi. His overall game offers much more than origi and that front 3 has to play.
