I know at the start of the season Fabinho was struggling to adapt to life in Liverpool, although it didn’t show in his performances, I was just wondering is he happy now? Alisson too, haven’t heard anything about him, I assume he is happy?

I’m getting a bit prematurely worried with all this talent that people are going to come looking for them? In my head, any team in the world would take Van Dijk, is anyone interested? I know it would take a monster fee, but still?

Who in their right mind would want to leave Klopp?

We need to start winning then it won't be as much of a problem. But I do share your worries over VVD, and Salah, Mane. Those 3 for me are irreplaceable.

Fabinho not sure he struggled to adapt to the life more how we play. I don't recall suggestions he was unhappy. What do you mean "it didn't show in his performances" yes it did hence why he never became a regular starter until December. Alisson as you I have heard nothing which must be a good thing.

I know the weather doesn't compare to where these players have been before, and maybe there could be a language barrier (but Fabinho was in France and Allison was in Italy) but where these players live - and I'm guessing somewhere like Cheshire - is comparable in quality to anywhere in the world and they'll have plenty nice places around them. I sometimes think we do ourselves down too much 'oop North'

{Ed002's Note - You haven’t travelled much have you?}

I have actually Ed002, in fact I've spent a lot of time in places like Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Paris where these players often end up and yes, they are beautiful places but, just like over here, they also have their negative sides. Give me the leafy Cheshire countryside around Wilmslow and Dunham Massey any day rather than somewhere like Paris which I've always thought was a bit of a dump.

{Ed002's Note - Fabinho lived in Monaco, not Paris. Cheshire is not "comparable in quality to anywhere in the world" by any stretch of the imagination.}

You know what Ed002, mostly I agree with you but to say that just smacks of mischief making. Cheshire is one of the most affluent parts of the UK and where most of the north west based players choose to live. It's a lovely part of the world and one that most people would be more than happy to live in, if they had the ridiculous amounts of money required to do so. And no, I don't live there myself.

{Ed002's Note - Cheshire is not as "affluent" as whole swathes of the rest of the country - it has pockets of nicer parts where there are some reasonably expensive houses, some of which are lived in by Manchester United and Manchester City players. It is nothing more than that.}

Firstly affluence is never and should never be a sign of whether somewhere is a nice place to live. It just means somewhere is fashionable for people with more money than sense.

Secondly, no footballer lives in Cheshire for its beauty. They live there for the money and chance of trophies. Fabinho et al would clearly be more at home in the sun drenched climates of Southern Europe. Nowhere in Brazil is like Cheshire.

Get out to places like Tatton Park, Dunham Massey or Lyme Park much Redinthewrongway? I'm no country bore by a long stretch but if you don't think the surrounding areas look like nice places to live - regardless of the affluence bit - then you may need your eyes testing.

{Ed002's Note - This is getting very tedious.}

Just to clarify mark, I meant, if he was struggling to settle, or the style of play, it did not affect his performances - meaning on the pitch he was good.

Good grief why did I bother reading this entire thread?

It's ok Jurgen, next week Ed002 will be visiting Blackpool where Klopp and VVD will be giving him a tour of the sights.

{Ed001's Note - Blackpool I hear is often compared with Monaco, for its balmy climate and being a coastal paradise with a sea full of yachts....}

I prefer the view out of my boat in Oxfordshire actually. Certainly more affluent round here and with better links, maybe i’ll see if Oxford United can convince Neymar to join by giving him an OS map and waiting for him to fall in love with the place.

Great thread😄

Was hoping for a mention of the dead or dying pit ponies lining the streets 😉.

The Liverpool docks often remind me of the French Riviera.
