I have seen a lot of talk about Mo Salah being touted by his agent but is this the agent trying to get a big fat fee or does the lad actually want to move? I know I have a heart of red but surely we are one of the biggest teams to play for now, great squad, top 4 EPL finishers and 2 CL finals must count for something. Other than a huge wage cheque why move? We made Phil a great player before his move to Barcelona and we have made Mo into a world beater, why can we not appeal to these players for the long term.

Even if we win a lot of trophies, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the biggest clubs in the world, will always pay well, offer sustained trophy challenges and lovely weather too. If you aren't a Liverpool fan the choice ia no brainer.

{Ed001's Note - Barcelona were not that big before Cruyff. Not outside of Catalonia anyway. It was success that made them big, so why couldn't a huge club like Liverpool move ahead of them simply by winning trophies? La Liga can't compete in terms of viewing figures, so they will lose ground if they are not able to attain more success in European competition soon. Messi will not be there forever and he is what a large %age of their worldwide fanbase support them for.}

Great response eds👌🏻.

{Ed001's Note - it is just the honest truth. I know a number of Real Madrid fans last season who are now Juventus fans because of CR7's move.}

If we get to the Champions league final every year, Liverpool will be the destination everyone wants to play their football.

We were bigger than Barcelona before, there's no reason we can't again. I think we're on the right track personally and have every chance of overtaking them. I think a clear message was sent during the semi-final win.

Your dead right Ed with all you’ve said. A massive stadium and sucsess but Messi is no youngster and we showed this season we can compete with the very best. Do you yourself see Salah moving this window mate? Ed002 has given his thoughts but wanted yours please?

{Ed001's Note - no, I don't think he will go this season. If he does it would be his loss as much as ours.}

No player is bigger than the club, if he leaves then he leaves but I can't see it happening either, good luck to him if he does, no big deal, we move on but right now he's a Liverpool player and get's my 100% support, I'm sure he'll be here next season.

ANY player who wishes to leave this club right now would be fools to themselves, unless of course they aren't getting game time like Moreno and co. But the starters would be silly to even think about moving clubs.

Ed, after messi and ronaldo retire, do you think mbappe, or anyone for that Matter will take that position as someone who has fans over the club. While mbappe has talent to be the best in the world, I don’t see him having that messi or ronaldo wow factor. He is unbelieably quick, good feet and finisher, but he’s More like prime bale at the moment, bar the long shots to me, than a future messi/ ronaldo.

{Ed001's Note - if it is not him then no, there is no one else capable.}

Salah. If you do decide to move on, I’d think twice about giving your reasons on here pal 😜.

Many top teams need rebuilding for sure but I see Barcelona needing a big turnaround, Messi and Suarez have led that lethal attack for years now, dembele and coutinho have cost nearly 200mil and don't look like the answer, busquets rakitic vidal are on decline, pique (even though I never really rated him) has been their local mainstay in the back, umtiti and lenglet aren't good enough either. Losing xavi, iniesta, puyol, mascherano, all serial winners was always going to be hard to replace but their transfer business has been a huge failure to date. Signing players like paulinho, Kevin Prince boeteng, vermaelan, paco alcacer, delafoue, recently to name a few.

They've set themselves a few years backwards I feel and could be in for some tough years ahead.

Valverde seems like a dead man walking too, they're losing if not already lost their identy of the last 15 years.

I think any top player in his peak years should not move there, for footballing and career reasons only of course. I understand the money, weather, culture, lifestyle, and draw of the club's recent success still plays into their favour. But they've a huge project on their hands to rebuild that squad.

Trophies are part of it but so is money.
A top player like Salah will earn much more in endorsements playing for Madrid, Paris or Barcelona than they ever will here.
Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar and the like earn ridiculous sums in wages but their take from endorsements tend to double their earnings.
Salah probably sees himself as the next Ronaldo or Messi with his face on posters and Macdonald’s burger wrappers etc.
Plus I think lifestyle has a lot to do with it as well, Liverpool doesn’t exactly have the same pull as Barcelona or Paris does it.
