It's dangerous and arrogant to presume like some are that we will just turn up and turnover Spurs.

This will be the biggest night in their clubs history. A team that can beat City over two legs is not one to take lightly. Similarly they made an exciting (albeit naive) Ajax team crumble.

Yes we are favourites and if we play at our very best then we should beat them.

I just wish people would remember that in this seasons competition alone we have put in shocking performances against Napoli and got beat handily by Red Star Belgrade. This club should know better than anybody, and the last two nights reaffirm this, you take nothing for granted in football.

Could not agree more with this, Wassa.

We've always had that 'x' factor in this competition - the glory and romance of the cup - but Spurs also have that moment of history to play for. Spurs have never won this before, and they have talismanic figures like Kane who, you just know, will be back for this game.

We should fear nobody, but we should also never, ever underestimate anybody.

We go on, with pride and confidence but also respect for the other team.

I think we'll destroy them, I don't think it'll be a close game at all. We'll beat them by more than 2 goals, we'll be well up for it and they won't be able to handle us, no chance. This is why I wanted Ajax to go through, I'd much prefer to have a decent challenge and win it, this won't be a challenge, we'll steamroll them. Not that I'm complaining, we will have our 6th CL trophy, bring them on.

There is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

{Ed002's Note - It is pure and simple embarrassing arrogance.}

Very arrogant as always Salah.

{Ed002's Note - Quite.}

I'm a little bit worried about facing spurs. They got through the group on 8 points, beat City on away goals them Ajax the same with a last minute goal. They've had so much good fortune I wonder wether their name is on the trophy.
If we played next week I'd fancy us to win, but there's a 3week rest period.

09 May 2019 07:49:56
I’m happier with spurs, I think we’ve the beating of them cup or not, we’ve more experience, we’ve also tasted defeat in the final and if we don’t win the league, that’ll be just one more element driving the lads on. We could steamroll them, we really could but I’m hoping for a thoroughly professional performance, 2-0 would be ideal.

7.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 07:51:42
Though I think we'll win, I also remember our two toughest games last season were against them home and away. Yes, we've improved of course, but like Wassa says, take nothing for granted. Clearly I'm just talking to the fans as I can't see this team switching off and being complacent against a dangerous Spurs side.

I keep going back to that Alisson save versus Napoli, last minuet To our us through the groups stages, unbelievable!

OP, People are free to air their opinions, as they see it. I am pretty sure that those who post their over-optimistic views about the final outcome, KNWO how dangerous Spurs are and anyone who saw both games in the PL va them KNOWS that. They may just feel that we have what it takes to turn them over. No one has said it will be easy.

Now would post such things? No cos I am more measured and nuanced in my analysis. That does not mean I should start saying people are wrong or disrespectful just cos they don't do what I do. Bottom line is that this will be a tough game no doubt and most importantly, the players, manager and majority of fans know that. We are free to dream about thumping Spurs cos I know I do BUT if we must, we MUST dream with our eyes open. That is what I would suggest.

A lot of people seem sure that Kane will be back?

I didn't think he was due back until a lot later than June 1st and even if they do he has lost his match fitness. Not ideal for them IF he even rushes back.

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this already.}

11.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 08:33:39
"I guess I'll continue to be arrogant then, I believe, if people don't like that then I won't be losing any sleep."

{Ed002's Note - You need to stop this nonsense right away - I am not willing to deal with the complaints.}

12.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:02:23
That's what I was referring to Ed, I assumed it was missed as I kept seeing mention of Kane being ready. They don't seem to show any lack of confidence without him and on that night any permutation of 11 will be dangerous.

13.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:02:27
Silly silly silly post.

14.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:11:14
Don't let your posting fame go to your head Salah.

Your infectious optimism is a thing of beauty but I can see how it (if take as pure gospel) comes across as somewhat deluded. You can not be blamed for how people read or take your posts but you can be blamed for inciting the madness in comments like your last one that do nothing more than incite more trouble for a site that you seemingly love.

Just stop and have a think before there is irreversible damage.

15.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:26:10
I think Lloris has a few mistakes in him. We have beaten spurs twice this year and we will not be complacent like any other game. But who's position would you rather be in?

16.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:27:57
Nobody's thrashing anyone in the final. The game will be touch and go, and decided by fine margins.
The club has worked very hard to be where we are today, and it's important the fans remain optimistic and hopeful rather than throwing their arrogance and entitlement at every opportunity.

17.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:32:07
I agree completely with RedWolf, opinions are just that an opinion, they can be optimistic, pessimistic or like most on here a balance of the two. We all want Liverpool to win every game by 4 or 5 but that is not reality. The reality is on June 1st Liverpool play a very good team but a team that has been beaten twice this season by our selves so I believe we can win again. But it will not be easy or straightfoward. Salah mate, I for one love your optimism but opening yourself up to a barrage of complaints and negativity is perhaps not the way to do things, last thing anyone wants is you not wanting to or being stopped from posting. A little humility goes a long way mate.

18.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:37:19
I can see why people are very confident bordering on arrogant as Spurs have been pretty poor since the turn of the year and their record away from home is awful. They have however beat City who are probably the best club side in the world over 2 legs, shown great resilience last night and not long ago were unlucky not to take points of us at Anfield and they beat us 4-1 last season!

19.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 09:38:13
You are right Indian, but I feel its less about entitlement and more about excitement at what is unfolding. I'm not sure how anyone can feel entitled as a fan of a club that has not won a domestic leauge title in nearly three decades, a European title in thirteen years, any kind of domestic cup in eight years and lost the last three finals they have played in. If that makes you feel entitled you need to give your head a wobble. And if arrogance creeps in on that record again it really is a case of having a word with your self.

20.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:00:44
If I was a spurs fan and they beat us having read Salah's posts I'd fall over trying to get on here quickly to make him eat his words. Pure arrogance, not a chance Spurs are a push over. Spurs play well against us generally and we were lucky at Anfield.

21.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:15:19
With the way Spurs won games and got the results (VAR against City, late goal in last group game to qualify and last nights comeback) they will believe their name is on the trophy as we did in 2005.
It will be very very hard to beat them.
Just hope our hurt from last year will be enough to get us through.

22.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:20:18
Salah mate I, like most, enjoy your optimism and confidence, however spurs deserve a lot more credit and respect than you've shown in your post.

Like others have said there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. Don't forget that only a week ago we were on the brink if being knocked out ourselves.

23.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:26:06
Spurs have a starting 11 full of class, and I expect their recent form has been poor mostly because they lack depth to rotate, and because they fell off the pace from the top two so probably lost a bit of their edge.

They will be fully pumped in Madrid and very dangerous.

24.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:26:41
Site goodwill gone to your head. The goodwill was there because your posts were that of a likeable and caring fella. They are now so alt-Walt that they show the reason why everyone hates Liverpool fans.

I too think we’ll beat Spurs and that's fine, but if you really think they’ll simply roll over and shows us their belly, your having a laugh.

25.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:46:05
Never, ever, ever underestimate your opponents. Tottenham go into the match as underdogs but they are very capable underdogs, just like Liverpool were capable underdogs against Barca.

On paper I believe we have the better squad, and it's great to be confident because we have every reason to be. But a hare and the tortoise mentality is dangerous.

26.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 10:58:34
Spurs are dangerous and they are underestimated, they will punish us. I'm sure Ajax thought they had that won. I"m also sure that Man City thought they'd crush them as well. Be confident, but don't take it for granted that the title is ours. Should we win? I think so, but Spurs are more than capable of beting us. I see a thriling 2-1 either way.

27.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 11:43:30
I called this out on a post yesterday when he said we’d “bloody ruin” whoever we played in the final, and I got called pc by a couple of posters and to keep all this pc stuff out of football. I’m glad a few others on here see it my way, it’s disrespectful, arrogant and the reason everyone seems to want Liverpool to never win things. On top of that, I feel it is just plain bad luck to come out with stuff like that, maybe I’m just overly superstitious, but it feels like setting us up for a massive fall. Nothing wrong with saying you think we’ll win, but there’s is simply not one single rational or logical reason to say we’ll annihilate them, not one, it’s loutish school boy stuff, and I actually don’t believe that’s who Salah is, he’s made some fantastic contributions to this site which I hope he’ll keep up (as well as the positivity) .

28.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 12:12:58
Really need to give it a rest Salah. It’s disrespectful to worthy opponents.

29.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 13:27:10
If we were playing Rochdale in the CL final i wouldn't be predicting a thrashing. 11 top players versus 11 top players with each one knowing this is probably the biggest moment of his career. The result could go either way but hopefully our experience will carry us over the line.

30.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 13:35:49
I'm nervous about Tottenham, but hopefully heartache last year will drive the boys on to do their utmost to win it.

31.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 14:03:40
If I were Pochettino I would pin Salah's comments up in their dressing room. What an incentive that would be. Far too confident and disrepectful in my opinion.

I, for one, am more than a little wary of the Spurs threat in the final because they remind me of ourselves in 2005. Iffy PL form but got to the CL final, probably unexpectedly, and look what happened.

Having beaten them twice this season also means nothing for this next match, except to make them more determined for revenge.

I would much rather be facing Ajax believe me.

32.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 14:05:48
Benny, it also would have been disrespectful to our fans and the European Cup had we played a second string against Barcelona, as you called for the other day (if Leicester had got something at City) .

33.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 14:45:31
Spot in KBL, they remind me of LFC circa 2005.

34.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 15:52:05
Spurs will be a tough, cagey final. 1 goal decider. But let's also deal with facts; They have lost more games and conceded more goals than us this year. That won't change by the 1st of the June. Reality is if we focus on that and deal with Lucas, Son and Ali and deal with the tactical change they made at Anfield in the second half which exposed our midfield, we have a good chance to win the CL cup.
