Salah confirmed to be out tomorrow night.

I would actually be dissapointed if they allowed Salah to play. You don't risk any player like that. no matter how important he may be.

I still have faith we can do the unbelievable.

1.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:20:39
I think the front line tomorrow should be Mane, Origi and Shaqiri. Also put Ox in the midfield with Milner and Fabhino. Now we know Mo and Firminho are definitely out we need an attacking team but with Milner and Fabinho who can sit in front of the back four. If Ox starts he will score, it's meant to be after a year out having been I hired at his stage of this competition last year. Conceded and its mission impossible but don't score 3 and we are out anyway so may as well go for it.

2.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:33:36
Kimuraking. th-- I think your team selection there is spot on. that's 100% my midfield and front 3. TAA also HAS to start.

3.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:34:59
Can’t play the ox, he won’t have 90 in him.

4.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:36:54
Ffs great news. So both Firmino and Salah our v Barca. It already was a tough ask but now seems an even bigger task.

{Ed002's Note - There was no question he would be able to play tomorrow if he had actually been concussed.}

5.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:41:13
Shaqiri can really do a job on the right and has a phenomenal left peg, he doesn't play much but he is good enough to cause problems tomorrow.
Origi can be a big lump in the air and gives an extra threat from set pieces which I think could be vital for us.

If anything, Salah and Bobby missing makes us a bit more unpredictable.

We might not do it but I've got belief that we can tomorrow.

6.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 12:44:13
Completely agree c_matthews94, need to put his health first. I think its too early for Ox to start, but would love for him to come on at some point. The odds aren't stacked in our favour, but you never know. I think Mane and Origi up front with big shaq in-behind.

7.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 13:06:29
Klopp had a mare in the first leg. We're buggered.

8.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 13:38:32
LiverpoolFC8, hindsight, scapegoating, defeatism all in one shirt post - why not belief or at least hope and support? Come on you mighty Reds!

9.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 13:57:15
LiverpoolFC8, to some degree I believe you are right. However if we had scored the chances we had (and we really should have! ) then we wouldn't be in this position. Hard to judge.

Lets get behind them. It'll be some atmosphere that's for sure.

10.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:07:32
Ox should start, he may not finish but after 70 minuets if he's had an impact it will be worth it. Bring on Gini and Hendo for the last 20 but we need a blistering start and I feel he could give it, get 4-0 up after 70 mins, Ox has scored twice and Barcelona are panicing . Hendo and Ginin bring the running and energy and we are through. God I wish it was that easy!

11.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:11:39
I didn't have much faith we would be able to overturn the 3-0 before, now without two of our best players, it seems impossible.
Hope they both recover well and can make a cameo in the last game of the season.

12.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:11:47
I just want us to win really. It would be nice to win 3 or 4 nil but I want Liverpool to prove they are a great team, just like Barca. It might not be enough this time but it will be good for future CL games and just maybe against Barcelona next season.

13.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:20:50
Put Brewster on the bench maybe chuck him on with 20 mins to go tell him to just go and enjoy it.

14.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:21:29
Shaqiri won't start, Brewster's got more of a chance lol. it'll be sturridge origi and mane.

15.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:25:46
As Ed02 said, there is NO way on this earth Salah would have played on Tues. after such a collision, concussed or not. The protocol requires that he gets at least 5/ 6 days rest then, re-evaluated and then if all is good, he is cleared to train right after. We all knew this. The hope is that he can play on Sun vs Wolves. Same goes for Bobbie.

As for tmrw's lineup, Kimuraking. th has the front line spot on, as well. As for the Ox, I don't think he is ready to start such a game. Can he come on later on? Absolutely, I think he can BUT that is just my opinion. We shall see.

16.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:30:47
Klopp did not have a mare, we pretty much had as many chances as they did, just didn’t convert any.

The second leg is going to be extremely tough without Salah and Firmino as we don’t have similar type players to sub in (which says something about our need to find a top forward to rotate next season IMO) so I suspect Klopp may use Mane, Sturridge and Shaqiri upfront with Origi to come on off the bench.

I’m not a big fan of Sturridge, but he’s capable of scoring off good service, and I suspect Barcelona will let us play and try hit us on the break knowing they only need 1 goal to pretty much seal things. A few good balls into the box from Trent, Robbo and Robbo and I think Sturridge could end up being our unexpected secret weapon. I’d use Fabinho and Hendo deeper to protect the back 4 and Gini in the attacking midfield role.

17.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:33:14
All we can ask for is the lads to put 110% in whoever plays. Runs till ya lungs are burning.
We need a small miracle, but I'm still confident.

{Ed002's Note - It is not possible to put in more than 100%.}

18.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:38:39
I recall Barcelona going to roma in the quarter finals last year with a 4.1 lead and duly lost 3.0 you never know.

19.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:40:08
RedWolf, in all likelihood we have already seen the last of Salah and Firmino for this season. Klopp already announced that Firmino is out for the season at the last pressie. And if ManC win tonight, I doubt he would take the risk of playing Salah in the last game with the hope ManC slip up for their last game.

20.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 14:48:56
That extra 10% is like God, 002 - if you believe it is there it must exist.

21.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 15:30:49
Sickened to see no Bobby or Salah but glad that their health comes first. Sadly it show's our lack of depth in the attacking position's and after watching Studge play on the weekend we definitely need to replace him and add at least 1 more forward. Still believe we can beat them whether we can overcome the goal difference is another subject.

22.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 15:47:55
Canadianscouse, depth has nothing to do with this at this point in the season as it is a false argument. It seems like any time we have a couple of injuries, the whole "lack of depth" argument comes up. I disagree. Sometimes, things happen that you can never plan for and that is life in general, not just football.

You say we have a depth issue whereas our subs have scored the most goals in the PL this season. We created a hat load of chances vs Barcelona W/ O Bobbie and could not convert. Was depth an issue then? Had we converted the chances at Barca, would squad depth be an issue then? Pls, make up your mind cos I'm sorry, one cannot have it all 30 different ways. Remember, It is the same squad players that have contributed massively to where we are today this season.

Salah and Bobbie are injured temporarily. It happens and there is not much one can do about it. We just have to hope that we can dig deep and try to overcome these absences, just like these players and manager have done all season long. That is my hope.

23.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 15:51:49
ArAy1969, I just watched to Klopp's pre: Barcelona presser and he was asked about the availability of Bobbie and Salah and Klopp ONLY said they would be out for tmrw. He never mentioned them being out for the season.

Now that does not mean they are not out for the season. It could mean that Klopps thinks/ is hoping they both still have a chance to play some part this season OR he is keeping Wolves and City honest for the weekend. OR there is a chance Salah can play come Sun. I hope either or both of them can still play come Sun. We shall see.

24.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 15:53:12
I think Big Div can win us the tie.

Barca will be cock-a-hoop with this news, in their heads they are already in the final. They won’t be prepared for Big Div, anything is possible with this lad and he will run through walls for you for 100 minutes, then he’ll put them back together because he’s such a great lad.

Barca will be thoroughly prepared to play against Salah, Bobby and Mane. They won’t expect the big man who bullied Dortmund a few years ago. Put your pretty football to one side because Big Div is in town 👍.

25.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 16:56:23
RedWolf. That's great. Now have a look at the latest press conference which is the post-Newcastle game one. That's where he was asked about both Firmino and Salah. (Why would he talk about Firmino being out for the season, pre-Barcelona game, and then play him in the same game? And was there any talk about Salah being injured pre-Barcelona? ) .

26.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 16:59:14
Ron, if Anfield is as frenzied as it was for Dortmund, we could well have a good shot at it. But that ball better be crossing the goal line; enough of those could haves and should haves.

27.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 17:06:43
Haha Ron you always make me chuckle. I do think big div will play and I do think he will give them a lot of problems I just hope he has his scoring boots on. I think brewster and the ox will come on to give us a lift with 20-25 minutes to go.
I think we will beat them without question. I just hope we don't leave the door open for them to score. They will be trying to hit us on the counter knowing that just one goal will kill the tie. Come on lads, even if we don't get through let's beat them and beat them with a convincing performance to let them know that they were lucky in the first leg.

28.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 17:09:25
What abt playing Wiji there? It's crazy plpl want to play hopeless Origi and lazy ******* Shakiri there 😝.

29.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 17:23:14
Ohyoubeaty:
Big Div always has his scoring boots on!
If he doesn’t score he takes 3 defenders with him and opens up space for Mane, Ox etc.
He’s a bit like Crouch who Carra described as the most difficult striker he had to face. He’s not your tippy-tally tricks and flicks speed merchant, he’s a big lump with a never say die attitude and a knack for being in the right place at the right time.
Basically Big Div is a monster in the eyes of the Barcelona chokers.

30.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 17:44:05
This might be a mad choice for some but i would start brewster up top with mane on the left and shiqiri on the right.

Brewster is a poacher with a lot more to his game than goals. He also has a shot from outside the box and has good link up play.

We need energy and a goal threats all over the pitch.

It would be surely a big ask for the kid but he is a highly confident lad and his energy and movement would be a lot better that sturridge for sure.

Id keep origi as an impact sub going at what would be hopefully tired legs.

Id keep mane on the left because liverpool need to get in behind and have good width.

The other intersting one might be to keep gomez at right back and play trent on the right of the front 3.

Id start ox and hendo in front of fabinho. As wijnaldum offers no goal threat and may even slow the play down at times when a brave pass is required or a second touch isn't needed.

Ox may only have 60 mins in him at the most. That might even be generous thinking. Id start him because i think his direct running and craft may put the fear into Barcelona from the off and help create a pattern of play they might struggle to get out of as the game goes on.

We need to get in barcelona's faces from the off. Upset their rythmn and make them panic. A slightly unpredictable line up might be a good way to do that.

So my crazy attacking line up that the defence would certainly not thank me for would be.

Becker
Taa
Matip
Vvd
Robertson
Fabinho
Ox
Henderson
Shiqiri
Brewster
Mane

If that line up were to score in the first 20 minutes it would make for some game. 2 nil at half time attacking the kop in second half. That would do nicely lol.

31.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 18:39:55
I’ve got a feeling Origi is going to score the goal which wins us the title.

{Ed025's Note - he might have already done that at the weekend ron, or the one he got against us ably assisted by pickford..

32.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 18:48:08
The team is now built around mane, salah and firmino. Its why decent players like origi, Sturridge and shaqiri can't get a game.

It would be a tough ask with salah and firmino in the team. Personally it was missing bobby that had the biggest effect on us not scoring in the nou camp. We had chances that he would have scored and he's the cog in that front three. The most important player in attack.

I hope wjinaldum isn't played up front but i hope he's in the team. he's been excellent this season and we will need whoever plays in the midfield to be on top form

I would go

Trent gomez/ matip vvd robertson

Gini. Hendo. Milner.

Shaqiri. Mane. Origi.

Id be tepted to play the ox, fabhino or keita but the old guard i trust fully. Its that 3 that knocked out city last year.

I gives us the chance to bring on more attacking players as Barcelona tire, the ox or keita. Fab is a brilliant defencive player but its goals we need tomorrow while the three i've picked are pretty solid.

It can be done, but looking at my team it seems a hard task. With mo OR bobby out id say it would be hard, with both of them out its a tall order.

But remember istanbul. We were away then with 45 minutes. We are at home on a cool northern evening. "youll never walk alone" will stir everyone on that pitch, refs, messi and most importantly our boys. We have a chance, we have 90 minutes. And we have smashed decent sides by more then 3 on many occasion. I have a feeling our captain will have a big part in our chances.

33.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 18:54:01
Think you massively overestimate Origi! an Ok player, and better the studge!

{Ed025's Note - what!!, liverpool supporter overrating one of their own players??.. surely not dean.. :)

34.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 18:54:25
Goal of the season that one against your lot Ed25 mate ;) lol.

{Ed025's Note - origi should be wearing a mask salah...that was daylight robbery mate..

35.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 19:05:04
Dean will be eating those words next week 🍽

Big Div gets underestimated by too many Liverpool fans.
Not one of the favoured names so he gets hammered.

Klopp knows how good he is, he’s going to be like a caged lion unleashed tomorrow night.

{Ed025's Note - more a neutered tabby cat ron.. :)

36.) 06 May 2019
06 May 2019 19:38:45
Personally can’t see either Shaqiri or Origi starting tomorrow even with Firmino and Salah on the sidelines. Klopp has said in his presser that we don’t need to score 3 in the 1st 10 minutes. Get your best XI on the pitch and work around that! Think Barcelona will start with the XI they finished 1st leg with, narrow midfield 4 with Suárez and Messi up top, playing on the counter. Think we’ll get our best opportunities from playing with width and set plays. So can see us playing 4-5-1
Allison
Gomez Matip VVD Robertson
TAA Henderson Fabhino Wijnaldum Milner
Mane
Then using Shaqiri Origi and Ox as impact players off the bench.
1-0 up with 20 mins to go would make for a grandstand finish.
